Worked right out of the box, just plugged in my printer and included the print server MAC address in my router wireless security and i'm in business. I'm happy this works great as advertised

After having read the previous reviews I was a little nervous but purchaced it anyways. I was quite happy, the documentation is quite limited, but the install still went quite smooth. I have a mixed network of Vista and XP machines and a D-Link wireless router to pull them all together. Once I had my Vista machine hooked up the remaining XP machines were a snap. One of my machines had networking trouble in the past, but this machine bipassed all that trouble and is now printing accross the airwaves. One note, I had WPA encryption already set up and it had no problem connecting in. I hope this helps someone else.

Product worked great - easy install, etc. Good value with the rebate. Shipping was excellent - arrived in 2 days, even though it was the free shipping that should take a week+.

I did not expect a network device to have any OS limitations, but this does. It does not support Linux-Ubuntu, none the less, I did get it to work with my Brother laser printer, but not my HP Deskjet. On my WinXP machine it works just fine. Even though my specific Brother printer was not listed, I picked a close model number from the list and it worked. The RF range seems good, but I have nothing to compare to.

I used the $50 off credit card rebate + manufacturers rebate; making the net total cost <$10. While it has an easy to use setup interface; I couldn't get the unit working. Finally call their support line, they had me set-up the unit w/static IP address rather than a dynamic address. Unit finally started working. After a while I noticed a slow down on my wireless communications, the status LEDs on my switch indicated a lot of traffic. I didn't really need the rangeBooster optiion, because most of my equipment was in my office. Turned off the wireless option, and the wireless network seems to be working normally now. The network antennas were only about 18" apart, so I assumed that the signal bouncing between each antenna caused the extra traffic - so I'm running a hard-wire connection.

I've got multiple OSes, including XP, OSX, and two flavors of Linux (OpenSuSE and Ubuntu), and I have them all working. Windows setup was simplest, but it wasn't too hard using LPD and direct port printing on OSX and Linux. I do happen to have one of the supported printers, and I suspect that is key.

This product was easy to set up and works great. Once you plug in your printers, on Windows it will create an executable file to define them to Windows. I don't have a multi-function printer so I don't know how that works but I didn't have any problem setting up my two printers on Windows and Ubuntu Linux. One con is probably a Vista problem but I'm not sure. When I installed I logged in on my id in Vista and set up the printers. I then switched users to my wife's id and tried to set up the printers but it failed with an error. It seems that only one user can use one printer at a time. Another con is that the manual doesn't explain how to reset the device to factory default if my make a mistake. I didn't look close at the default static IP address and I could not find it on my network. I finally found the out how to reset it to factory defaults through the FAQs on their web site (hold the reset until the lights flash) and started over. After that it worked fine.

It is a bit of a pain to set up on new computers (can't just go to \\printserver or whatever and double-click and have it download drivers, etc. and set it up like you can when sharing from another computer) and the instructions are a little lacking on that part of the process. Their generated EXE to install the printer doesn't seem to work reliably so I figured out what it was trying to do and just do that by hand, works great. Scanning functionality is easy to set up, but is limited to single-page PDFs for flatbed scanners. However, it supported my MFP even though it wasn't in the list of supported and it's the only product I've seen that actually works with MFPs so I still have to give it a good rating!

We just purchased this printserver to help with printing from multiple computers and not having a wirless network in the house. It was easy to setup and install. It also works great for both the PC's & Mac's together. I highly recommend this product.

I have two of these. One of the first things that I did after removing the unit from the box was to update the firmware. Out of the box & with a cabled connection, the device picks up an address via DHCP and quickly makes its presence known on the network via UPnP. Many folks disable UPnP for security reasons. If that is the case on your network, you may need the included CD to help 'find' the device. Once found on the network, setting a few parameters will get things setup for wireless connections. A few quick settings will configure a printer that is connected via USB and you are ready to print. The ethernet (network) port can be connected to a switch and used to extend your wireless network to devices that have no wireless connection. I have had one for over a year connected to my Printer/Scanner/etc. and another that I used to extend my wireless network (an pretty old parallel printer wouldn't work with it). Both deliver good, solid wireless connections and consistent operation for scanning, printing, etc.

My network consists of an old (about to be retired) XP desktop connected to a 3Com wireless router and 2 laptops running Vista Business with wireless connections. Printer is an HP 6110xi multifunction, which is on the list of compatible pritners/scanners. I had to reduce wireless security from WPA2 to WEP in order for the print server to log on to the wireless network, even though firmware 1.21 (which you must download if you are running vista) is supposed to support WPA2. Even with the firmware update, setup on the vista machines was difficult, but D-Link technical support walked me through the steps once I got stuck. I was unable to set up a driver for the print server on the old desktop despite having my printer installation disk. Print server is working well with the laptops, with both printer and scanner working wirelessly. Despite setup difficulties, I am pleased with product.

All I wanted was a print server to attach to my home network. I spent a weekend+ working to get this thing working. I did get the printer to work occasionally on the computer connected via ethernet cable to the network and the server. It would error out after printing 1 or two pages and I would have to reinstall the printer drivers through the server. It would never work with my laptop through a wireless connection. I called support and was working with them for a few hours. None of the people I spoke to were able to help me get the problems resolved. They finally said to return the unit. I tried returning the unit but the vendor said I could not because it was past the 10 days for returns. D-Link also does not accept returns directly, EVER. So just be careful before buying this unit.

I found this to be a nice product. I feel it was a great value in that it supports 4 printers for the price. The ethernet bridge function is a nice bonus. It works as described. I do wish that it had a few more features. Specifically: 1) bi-directional communication between the computer and printer for ink levels, etc. 2) scanner support would be cool too, since it already supports scanners on MFP's, I can't imagine it would be too much more to support standalone scanners... 3) The documentation could have included specifics for manually attaching to the printers. The documentation only tells you to go to the print server's web page and download a file that installs the printer.

It does more than many print servers just for one printer, and this one will support four! I've had three simultaneous printers running while scanning on a fourth, and detected no throughput problems. There's on-board RAM that seems sufficient to handle whatever I've thrown at it. Scanning can be done with any PC on the network, no special software installed (it runs via browser and downloads a PDF). A bonus is this will also function as a wireless bridge, with auto MDI/MDI-X on the wired side. The only downside, as another reviewer mentioned, is the lack of feedback on ink levels; and I suspect that's a limitation of the communications protocol. I liked this so much, I bought a second for a specialized application!

The print server worked right out of the box and my HP All-in-One printer wasn't listed as "approved" It connected to my Vista Laptop and my XP Desktop without a hitch. Great product!

I was looking for an inexpensive wireless print server and this one fit the bill. I've install other dlink and linksys wireless servers and this one has been the easiest so far. I connect it via a wire to set the WEP key. Then plugged in a HP USB printer. It recognizes the printer ran me through a web based wizard and it was setup in a matter of minutes. One issue was Nortan Security later disable my intranet sites and thus I could get to web based admin page. But once I enabled them again it worked fine.

Took this out of the box and installed in all computers in the house using the web tool in just minutes. Was extremely easy to install and works reliably and every time. It does something strange and a pop-up says "printer not responding" but prints everything time and the pop-up dissappears. I would highly recommend this unit, having a great wireless print server gives you so much flexibility to move computers around the house.

I decided to go wireless in my home got a comcast connection and then came the hard part what did I need next A router but whose router all the routers I look at said the same thing we are the best, easy hook up no problem well I found out the hard way went though 3 routers, that would not function then I went with D-link wasn't easy at first but did get it connected, Then I wanted to print from my lap so I purchase a D-link print server which I thought was going to be easy since I had their router well it wasn't but after going through everything during setup I found out that is was not D-link fault, I had other issues which once I got them fixed the print sever configured properly and has been working better I expected no more unpluging my laptop all I have to do is hit print go to the comptuer room and it's there thank D-link

I've had this product for 3 months. It was easy to install and quick to operate. You may need to update the firmware to the newest version, but once you're up and running, you will appreciate it's design features and utility. The ability to "Bridge" a wireless WiFi signal into a wired LAN by attaching an RJ45 jack - to the device back panel - is a great feature. Aside from having a reasonably priced - up to 4 printers - print server, now you have a WiFi booster and an additional Ethernet port in the most remote corner of your house.

It was easy to set up ... although the doc made some assumptions about the network and what would show up under Network neighborhood. I am using it hard-wired, so I did not set up wireless. As for the printers, I simply plugged them in and they were recognized. I wish it would work better for some of the other printers, and I wish my multiFunction machines would work (maybe upgrades to the firmware?) ... but everything promised to work does work.

It took a little bit to get it to work, and a few calls to D-Link's tech support, but once it started to work, it worked flawlessly. My laserjet now resides in our basement and we have three laptops and one desktop networked to it. Outstanding! And the price combined with the rebate from Buy.Com was better than anything even remotely (er, excuse the pun) similiar!

This is a terrific product - it is a small box that connects to your wireless network. All computers on your network can then print to this printer wirelessly, even if there are many of them. However, the documentation is very poor - the main idea is that you have to connect to the print server's home page (like a router, it has a home page). Then, from there, you can install the printer on to different computers. My printer worked even though it is not on the compatibility list- probably best to check if your printer is. It is also very important that you update the print server's firmware before starting.

I have two of these and they have both performed superbly. This product does exactly what a print server should do, plus a little bit more. And it's all wireless. Once you get it running (which isn't too difficult to do), you can almost forget about it since it does its job very reliably. I have yet to encounter a printer which it doesn't support. Also, the additional bridge functionality rocks.

The setup was tricky - first you have to attach it to your computer with an ethernet cable to do the main setup. I recommend downloading the latest firmware FIRST from D-Link on to the computer that you will be using for the setup. Then, after you set up the server to work on your network, assign the server a static IP address (you should be able to do this from your router's home page). Then, disconnect the print server, and you can use it wirelessly. Note that to use the printer, it now has an IP address that you can connect to via other computers on the network. So, then in Windows, go to add printer, and choose a local port, and create a new TCP/IP port. Then use your new IP address and you are set. Now we have four computers all able to print from the same printer - pretty nice!

This product works great. It was simple to install, took about five minutes. I would recommend this product if you want a print server that will work with HP Officejet All-in-one printer. I also recommend Buy.Com as a great place to shop. My print server was delivered within a couple of days.

The DPR-1260 works great for getting up to four USB printers connected to my netweork without having to use another PC as the print server. Great if you use laptops on a wireless network. It was very easy to install and setup. The only drawback I found is that it would indicate from the write-ups and packaging that most Multifunction printers will work with the unit. I found out that most will print through it but many will not scan through it as you are led to believe. Even with this draw back it is still a very good product. You can attach a standalone USB scanner through the device and it works fine.

This product works just fine and was easy to setup after getting the initial connection. It has a default IP address and since a wise user of wireless technology changes his setup from the default, it's a little inconvenient. You have to physically attach it to your wireless router. It would be nice if it came up with in DHCP mode, got an address from your router and then you can just look and see what its address is, then connect from there and give it a static IP if you wish. Sometimes there is a lag in the speed of transmission to the printers, or if you're surfing at the same time as printing there can be some halting in the printing process. I'd like to see the thing show you all the information you can get when you're connected to a computer, like ink levels. I'd also like to see this extended to support other USB devices, like separate scanners.
