5 of 5 Cheaper wireless for your Xbox 360! Saturday, February 16, 2008
    A Customer from Wildwood, MO

Bought this for my son's use with his Xbox 360. Didn't want to overspend on the propietary Msft attachment so did some research and bought this beauty. I have a Netgear super G router and this connected automatically and painlessly. Simply entered my WEP encryption code and we were off and running. Since I had done some earlier reading, I did remove the "sides" to eliminate the heat buildup and game freezing which some people apparently have if they don't remove. It's been flawless from the first minute and the game play has been excellent (with the wireless router and DSL pro speed). And what's better? We saved $35 and can use this for other game systems if we desired.

5 of 5 Network interface for DirecTV HR20 DVR Sunday, January 06, 2008
A Customer from Apple Valley, MN
This product worked perfectly, right out of the box. Easy, 5 minute setup on a WEP-secured wireless network. As others have noted, it does run hot. Mine is installed in a home theater cabinet with 4 small muffin fans, so not an issue.

4 of 5 Great but runs hot Wednesday, November 28, 2007
A Customer from Big Bear Lake, CA
This is a great gaming adapter, but unfortunately it runs hot. This is my second adapter because the first one burned out after about a year. When it works, it works flawlessly. Super fast, lag free performance especially when used in conjunction with a D-Link wireless access point (I use the DWL-2100AP) that supports D-Link's proprietary turbo boost mode and high gain directional antennas. In fact, I noticed no discernible lag difference when playing Halo 3 using a very long wire connecting my xbox and router than when I used this wireless product. You do need some wireless setup experience configuring this product, especially to make use of the turbo mode, but it's not that hard. I would have gave it 5 stars across the board if it wasn't for the heat problem.

5 of 5 Gets the job done! Friday, December 17, 2004
    A Customer from Chicago IL
I brought this after using the linksys wga54g. The linksys adapter stopped working after one day. It made a hissing noise from the begining and just died the next day. I picked the DWL-G820 up and it works great. I use it mostly for my xbox. The xbox does not recognize it as a wireless adapter. It is just seen as a ethernet cable. None the less, it works with no lag at all. I replaced the antenna with a linksys hga7s and got a boost in signal from 60-75% to 80-95% (from about 75 ft away through two walls). If you have a dlink router, there is no set up( using default settings on both router and adapter). If you have some other brand of router, set up will take about ten minutes and is not difficult. To improve this product, dlink should write a firmware that allows the xbox to see it as a wireless adapter. They should also include a slightly larger antenna. Other than those small gripes, this thing is great!

5 of 5 It Really Works! Saturday, October 16, 2004
    A Customer from Brick, NJ
I bought this for my son to be connected to his PlayStation 2 to play internet based games and he couldn't be happier. It performs just as fast as using the CAT 5/6 cable and he can use it on any TV in the house (as we chase him from one to the other!) We do have a complete D-Link wireless network (Super G) in the house already, so setting this up was a breeze....we didn't have to configure anything....we plugged it in and the system recognized it and it worked! NO GLITCHES, NOTHING! We have three wireless laptops on the system as well and they all work at the same time without any problems. We highly Recommend.
