2 of 5Eye2eye has potential, but can be frustrating Monday, October 18, 2004 A Customer from Rancho Santa Margarita, CA
I'm from the broadband industry and suggested a product like the Eye2eye a few years ago. While I'm glad to see a product on the market like this there are many enhancements required to provide the user with a good first-time installation experience.
Beware...if you are using a Linksys router you'll likely have issues with opening ports between two users.
After many hours of getting pushed between Dlink and Linksys support people I finally came to the conclusion that I needed a Dlink wireless router so I went and purchased one.
In the end, the frame rate and ease of use for a wired version (VC1000) seems much more stable than the VC1100. When it works this is an awesome product and like a great golf shot it's when it works that keeps me coming back.
DLink Marketing needs to wake up and make the necessary enhancements to the software to improve the product. It would also be nice to get to a better image resolution assuming their hardware can handle the compression requirements.
It's a great first step and I recommend you try the product (VC1000 preferred over the VC1100)
