D-Link’s new DI-724GU Gigabit Office Router integrates several highly useful features to make your business more productive. The Office Router combines Internet sharing, a USB print server, a QoS engine, gigabit LAN ports, and a D-Link 108G wireless access point in a rugged new metal chassis. Centralize printing services, improve VoIP performance, and transfer files at Gigabit speeds using D-Link’s new Office Router.

The Gigabit Office Router uses QoS technology to improve the quality of VoIP calls. Typical Internet applications such as e-mail and web browsing require minimal bandwidth, but other applications are real-time sensitive and require much higher bandwidth, such as Voice over IP (VoIP) and video streaming. The Gigabit Office Router uses an intelligent engine to automatically detect and prioritize bandwidth-sensitive packets so that they can be sent over the Internet as soon as the request is made. This results in faster processing of real-time based packets, less latency, and a better user experience.

The Office Router’s USB 2.0 port can be used for both print server functionality as well as Windows Connect Now. Connect a USB printer to the Office Router and enable printer sharing amongst all network users. Using the PS Wizard, easily set up an attached printer for printing on the network. Reduce costs of purchasing additional printers or having to dedicate a PC for printing services. Windows Connect Now makes configuring the wireless settings as simple as running the Wireless Network Setup Wizard from Windows XP SP2, and transferring the wireless settings using a USB flash drive.

Each component of the Gigabit Office Router was designed for maximum performance -from the rugged metal chassis to each internal component. A high-speed CPU that powers the robust routing engine provides best-of-class networking performance and has the capability to handle heavy network traffic and printer sharing while maintaining smooth Voice over IP (VoIP) calls. The integrated wireless access point uses dual 3dBi antennas for exceptional wireless signal range and delivers a maximum wireless signal rate of up to 108Mbps when used with other D-Link 108G devices. Gigabit LAN ports enable lightning fast transfers for compatible clients within the network.

The Gigabit Office Router features Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) and Network Address Translation (NAT) double firewall functionality with Denial of Service (DoS) attack protection to safeguard your network. Security features such as these can be enabled without reducing network performance. In addition, an improved access control system blocks inappropriate content and keeps employees focused on business.

Make the most out of your network with this all-in-one wireless router, print server, and VoIP enhancer. Increase the versatility and performance of your network with the diverse functionality of D-Link’s new Gigabit Office Router.

    5 of 5 Great Product! Monday, June 23, 2008
A Customer from San Jose, CA
I bought this wireless router a month ago and my wireless woes are over at last. I previously owned a Linksys and had many problems with dropping connections and lack of connectivity. This router removed those problems and allowed me persistent and reliable connection EVERY TIME! Everything worked right out of the box and my transition was a snap. Highly recommended!!!

5 of 5 Great Product, but D-Link, tweak the interface ple Wednesday, June 18, 2008
    A Customer from Portland, ME
I've dealt with a much-earlier D-Link wireless router at work and was anything but impressed... but I've had worse with a certain "L" name brand, and read horror stories about others. I bought this mostly for the gigabit switching, but the wireless also serves well for when I'm on the porch or using my N810. I haven't used the print server option yet, but the instructions for that seem pretty straightforward. Very happy with this product so far (which has been about 2-3 weeks.) Setup was mostly painless and went quickly. I did have some minor problems finding the proper spot to configure, and I have to ding D-Link on that point: Having navigation in two places really makes things confusing. I'd be much happier with two rows, or some sort of drop-down menu instead. If you're not looking to switch to N-spec wirelss, but interested in gigabit transfer speeds between your wired devices, this is worth it.

5 of 5 This is a great wireless router and printer server Thursday, June 12, 2008
    A Customer from Tiburon, CA
I have had the router running for about 2 weeks now. And no issues so far. The range is much better than the routers I have owned before. And the printer server is a great addition. I had no problems setting it up. I highly recommend this product.

4 of 5 Good performance but not exceptional value Tuesday, May 20, 2008
    A Customer from Tempe, AZ
I have used this router for 2 months now and the performance is good - no drop link, files transfer (over wired GigE) is 2 to 3 times faster than my previous 100 Mbps router. Useful features include WPA2 support for wireless, and print server - easy to setup but doesn't support Easy-WebPrint functionality provided by Canon or Epson printer. QoS feature is totally useless for me because it doesn't allow you to specify the type of traffic or source. It would really be useful if for example I can give higher priority to my VPN connection traffic over my downloads. Buy.com shipping is fast as usual.

5 of 5 Excellent Business Class Router for Home Use Friday, February 01, 2008
    A Customer from GA
If you are looking for a solid wireless router that supports Gigabit LAN connections, look no further. Here are the reasons I purchased this unit: 1. Gigabit LAN: I previously used a Gigabit switch connected to the router to support high data transmissions between my networked computers. If you have to move files larger than 1GB, you NEED Gigabit LAN. 2. Print Server: this unit has a built in print server. Connect a printer via USB, run the script on each computer connected to the LAN, and, voila, instant printing from any computer. Initially I was concerned that the router would not recognize my 5 year old printer, but there was no problem. 3. Solid wireless connection. Signal strength is significantly higher with this unit than with my previous wireless router. This unit was easy to configure. Make sure to enable encryption (WPA2) since it is not turned on by default. Finally, this unit is made of metal which dissipates heat much more effectively than plastic. The unit is barely warm whereas my previous router was almost hot to the touch. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!!

5 of 5 Easy as Cake Friday, October 26, 2007
A Customer from Manhattan Beach, CA
So I read all of the horror stories about trying to get routers and print servers to work, but this product made it easy as cake. I plugged it in and the internet connection immediately worked. No configuring my computer. No setting all sorts of weird esoteric settings. To get the print server to work, I followed their directions by typing in their IP address, clicked one button, and sat back while it found my printer, loaded the driver, configured everything and printed a test page. It took less than 1 minute. And this is on a Windows machine! Can you believe it?

5 of 5 Better than most Wednesday, July 18, 2007
    adamcness from SC
I'm testing with my MAC Powerbook 12" I've installed several different models of routers made by several different companies, and this one has, by far, the best range. My parents have a Netgear router installed at their house, and the range is limited to about 55-75 ft, inside, through one single brick wall. I have seen some others with similar range limitations... This router gives double the signal range in my opinion. It is installed in a friends house next door (he's sharing until I can get my internet up). There are 2 brickwalls and about 100-130 ft. between the 2 houses, so far I've been impressed by the range mostly. The online setup menu is lengthy, but clear once you do a bit of exploring. There are lots of options, and I was caught offguard by the MAC filter working on the wired LAN, but quickly realized the problem. Lots of cool features that you would expect from a business level device. I have not had a chance to test the speed of the LAN re: the 1Gbps claim, but I'll give an update once I do, if I can. I plan to setup a printer, but I'm not going to do that until I get it back into my own house. The update will include that as well.
