| | | A writer of novels, short stories, and literary criticism, Cortazar is as highly respected as his compatriot Jorge Luis Borges. Both authors are obsessed with metaphysics and with the power of the imagination.
| Author Bio| Julio Cortazar | | Born in Brussels of Argentinean parents, Cort?zar was raised in Argentina but moved to Paris in 1951--the year in which his first collection of short stories, BESTARIO, was published. He lived in Paris the rest of his life, and was heavily influenced by the French surrealist movement.
