The slot allows different iPod models to be connect onto. It also work as a charger for your iPod. Although the sound quality is not the best, but its acceptable of you've paid for! I purchased this speaker about 2 years ago. I have used it a ton and in many different rooms. My husband would take it to work sometimes and also use it in the garage. It gets pretty good sound for the price. Ours finally quit working and now I am looking to get another one like this for our kitchen and then a lots better one for outside and places where we want more sound. Was this review helpful?
