When You Have The Ultimate Performance System, Can You Really Tolerate Inferior Memory?
It doesn't matter how fast a memory module is if it isn't stable and doesn't fit your system. Software crashes, choppy game play, and driver and operating system hiccups — all can be caused by bad memory modules. Performance and stability are Crucial! Don't settle for anything less than Ballistix!

So, What is Ballistix Tracer Memory?
Ballistix Tracer memory is specifically built for performance enthusiasts and case modders who want to push the performance envelope while adding flash appeal to their boxes. The Ballistix line of high-performance memory modules features advanced speed grades, low latencies, and integrated aluminum heat spreaders. Ballistix Tracer memory features a black PCB, black integrated heat spreaders, and one or two rows of eight "chasing" red and green LEDs atop the module, circulating in a random pattern based on memory utilization. A custom-designed circuit relays bus activity to the LEDs, allowing them to accurately reflect usage of each memory module. In addition, eight blue ground effects LEDs emit a constant glow near the pins.

So you ask yourself, "What has Crucial done to make sure Ballistix products operate at the published speed ratings?"

Good question!
After Crucial manufacture's the modules, every Ballistix product is tested in a platform capable of running at its published operating speed.
Crucial Ballistix DDR2 is a leading-edge generation of memory with an improved architecture that allows it to transmit data extremely fast & stable.

What is a Ballistix 240-pin DIMM?
A Ballistix dual inline memory module (DIMM) consists of a number of memory components that are attached to a black printed circuit board. The gold pins on the bottom of the DIMM provide a connection between the module and a motheboard. Ballistix 240-pin DIMMs are used to provide DDR2 SDRAM memory for desktop computers.

1 of 5 2 RMA's in 8 Months Friday, May 16, 2008
mjhorvat from Henderson, NV

I installed this memory in a Gigabyte GA-P35SC-DS3R motherboard and have had to RMA it twice in 8 months. The first time was due to repeated memory errors; the second time, one stick failed completely. What make it worse is that I didn't even overclock it.

5 of 5 My buddy said it looks like a disco in my case Thursday, December 20, 2007
A Customer from Milwaukee, WI
The price is cheaper than most other places. It was pretty easy to use; just put it in the slot. I have 4GB on a NF68-A1 EVGA 680i board, and Vista(64-bit) recognized all 4GB. XP(32-bit) recognized 2.25GB. Pretty fast RAM for DDR2(for the price). Default setting in BIOS was set to 800, so you'll have to change it to 1066 if this is the case for you. Crucial recommends timmings of 5-5-5-15 @ 2.2v. Depending on how big of an overclocker you are, you may use different timmings and voltages (why else would you buy Ballistix??).

5 of 5 Can't Go Wrong with Crucial Wednesday, December 19, 2007
A Customer from Daly City, CA
Only been a few days since I built my computer. So far so good. Very good performance. The LED lights on the card is a nice addition. Great chip for overclocking. Overclocked my 2.4Ghz Quad Core to 3.1Ghz and is running fine. Definitely recommend.

3 of 5 It was a good price Friday, December 07, 2007
kbcflash from Jonesboro, Ar.
I hate sending anything back and I do overclock untill now. I ended up with one bad stick.rather than send it back I underclocked it until it would run. SO I'm running at 2.259v,I can't go down to 2.2v, My other option would be 2.178v & 980MHz is as high as I can go.Actual speed is 977.8MHz The way I'm looking at this is, If this were 800mhz memory for the price I payed this would be great memory. So I'm OK with it..My only problem is I wanted to push my Core 2 Duo E6600 Conroe Processor 2.4GHz To over 3GHz I was running it at 3GHz, No big feat for me,but now I'm running it at 2.4GHz to keep things stable. My Motherboard is an Asus P5N-E SLI & I have the newest bios revision 0604 OH and my other problem is I'm running windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit witch slows me down too.I was running my FSB at 1200MHz & even though My FSB & memory is unlinked I had to drop it to 1100MHz after installing this memory.

5 of 5 Best RAM for overclockers and Showoffs Tuesday, December 04, 2007
Tubby from Madison, WI
I bought these RAM back Summer 07. Actually got the 800Mhz max version (so PC2-8400 i believe) and got these for free upgrade after RMA. These are very reliable and fast ram. They look like a space ship on steroids with blinking LED, perfect for a custom built with a show panel. You can OC this baby to 1066Mhz but i haven't tried. Make sure you up the Voltage on the RAM in BIOS if you are doing it. Also make sure your motherboard can handle that voltage if you are making it high. If these get cheaper, I might get another pair.

5 of 5 Fine Product Friday, November 30, 2007
Vanwalle from NJ
Memory is working great. Seems to run pretty hot though and I guess that's why it's cased in metal. The pretty little lights are fun for the little ones to watch..... Haven't overclocked it too high so I can't attest to it's worth on that end.

5 of 5 Excellent Customer Service Friday, November 30, 2007
A Customer from Oregon City, Oregon
When I first got this RAM, I had to mess with the timings to get it to work with my motherboard (eVGA 680i). When I called customer service, I quickly got transferred to a person who was very helpful. I recommend Crucial memory for its' performance and the customer service compared to other companies out there.

A Customer from Little Rock, AR.
Extremely happy with purchase. First time buy from Buy.com and sure won't be the last. I shopped around and this was the best price and delivery was very prompt. I won't hesitate to buy from here again. Oh, and the RAM looks fantastic as well as exceeds performance spec. This Ram is very highly rated and works well with quad core processors.

5 of 5 Excellent Product Tuesday, September 25, 2007
Dallas from Houston, Texas
I would recommend this memory. Not only is it an excellent product, if you have a case with a clear side it puts on a great light show with the built in LEDs.
