| | Professional Reviews | Chicago Sun Times 0 of 10 A London critic once described a stage performance by Peter O'Toole as his "Douglas Bader imitation," a reference to the Battle of Britain hero who walked on two artificial legs. O'Toole gives another Bader performance in Creator, lurching perilously through a chemistry laboratory and bludgeoning everyone around him with his lethal charm. It is the same sort of performance he gave in My Favorite Year and The Stunt Man - indeed, it is the basic performance he seems to be giving this decade - and, as usual, it works... The movie was directed by Ivan Passer (Cutter's Way), with his usual attention to personal quirks that preserve his characters from becoming trapped in the plot. I liked all of the casting, and I liked the fact that [Creator] found new combinations of familiar faces; who would expect to find O'Toole, [David Ogden] Stiers, [Mariel] Hemingway, [Vincent] Spano and [Virginia] Madsen in the same movie, and yet who familiar with their work would not enjoy seeing them together? - Roger Ebert

5 of 5 Missing the 'Big Picture'..? Wednesday, June 05, 2002 Michael Smith (moxycat from Grove City, Ohio
This movie is sure to help you find it. Peter O'Toole is at his best in this warm hearted comedy. A brilliant professor trying to re-create his dead wife, he learns a lesson himself along the way. His charm is at full force as he trys to teach faculty and his assistant to see life's 'Big Picture'. This movie may not have been a box office smash, but it is the one that I will want to share with grandkids many years from now, and help them to see the 'Big Picture'. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Romance is alive, she's alive! Sunday, April 14, 2002 jager333 from LA, CA
To most, this movie may seem cliche and simplistic, but to those who have not succumb to the cynicism of the world around us will be able to see what the movie is simply about; the dream of love having the ability to transcend life's harshest moment. Was this review helpful?
