5 of 5 Less Pricey than Ipod, but just as/or more Reliabl Wednesday, December 05, 2007 Angela from Tx, US
I was looking for an MP3 player that was reliable and well priced. I had tried RCA & another brand (I can't remember), and was very disappointed and returned both. One locked up completely, and the buttons were touchy, flimsy, etc. I had a friend who had an Ipod that went bad in the 1st month, too, so paying more didn't always mean more reliable.
I first tried the 2GB Zen V Plus, and loved it. Took it on a kayak trip down the river in a small waterproof box, and listened in the mornings sitting along the shore. Perfect. Battery lasted me the whole week, listening a few hours a day. Easy to use, and download or remove songs. I have ALOT of songs, and needed more space, so I also bought the 8GB. The Creative Zen V Plus is a tough little player, buttons work well, and it is very small.
They've got great accessories out there for this player: skins, cases, adapters too. The sound is great, although I have very sensitive ears and found the headphones uncomfortable. (My son thinks the headphones were fine.) An upgrade to earplug type headphones for 20.00 (Koss are great) was a must for me and WELL worth it for comfort, and sound. Sound got much better and louder, so I recommend it.
I've had nothing but great experience with Creative Zen V Plus. I already have 2 friends who bought some too. Like me, they wanted something less pricey than Ipod, but reliable.
My Only warning is: DO NOT try to plug it in to your computer without downloading the software first (Won't work, locks up computer, etc.).They mean it when they warn you on the package. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Not a bad player Friday, September 28, 2007 A Customer from chicago, il
I bought this product and received it in no time. However the amount of time it takes to transfer songs on to the mp3 player in my opinion is slow. i have used prev creative products and the file transfer is faster. the software that comes with it is ok i have seen better from other companies and creative prev software. i had to return the player for a replacement because it would pause in the middle of playing a song and i would have to hit the play button two times for it to resume play. creative did send me a new player. I would not expect this since i only had the player a few week. for the price it is a GOOD deal and a small cute player. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 ZEN V Plus 8GB - good & small Tuesday, September 25, 2007 Luger from Richland, WA
I had an RCA Lyra player. OK, but too big in size (Hard drive model) and I got audio feedback when it was plugged in to the 12v outlet on my Goldwing. I could have dinked with filters and such, but I decided to go with a non-HD MP3 player. Looked at iPods and the Zen units. iPods are decent enough, but overpriced (IMHO). The Zen will do everything I need, in a smaller format.
I have found it much easier to work than my old Lyra. The Zen Media Explorer software makes creating and editing play lists very simple. The unit has a longer battery life than my old player, more features and it's so dang small that I don't even notice it's in my pocket! First rate player and software! I got a couple Zen Stones (1 gb) for presents for the grandkids because I like my V Plus so well. Was this review helpful?
