I purchased this to listen to audiobooks from netlibrary.com. The Zen V plus player is not able to manage these single large files. First, it does not keep your place if it shuts down after you put it on pause. If you do lose your place your must "seek" instead of choosing the single fast forward speed. Fast forward crashes the player in large files. I reset the player 5 times in one week before the reset failed. The menu system/UI is lousy. As a final insult the time to turn on the player and to shut down is excessive. I returned mine. You may have different results if only listening to songs.

I purchased the Zen V plus so that I could download books on tape from the library. There are too many steps to bookmarking and the worst thing is that the bookmark doesn't always work. If you fast forward too far or too fast the machine seizes. Same with rewind. Then you have to hit the reset button, so tiny it can only be reached with the end of a paperclip. I would not purchase again. It turns off if you pause too long which is good as it saves the battery, however it takes a long time to turn it back on. It is also impossible to see the screen outside in the sun.

Save yourself the trouble. Don't buy this product! I've owned this item for 5 months and 2 months ago, a crack appeared on the joystick. Today it finally broke apart and the bits are lost inside my MP3 player. I haven't got 3 months to wait for Creative to fix it. I use my MP3 player everyday. What a waste of time and money.

This compact 2GB player offers excellent performance and convenience at an affordable price. The screen is a bit small for video playback, but it is clear and bright. The control stick works well and response time is quick. The music software provided with the unit, while not cutting edge, is useful and performs well. I am pleased with this unit and recommend it to anyone who needs an inexpensive, easy-to-use MP3 player.

I bought this for use at the gym. Overall I am satisfied about the price I paid for this product. So far I have had no trouble with it, but the other day when I was trying to turn it on the on/off slider went flying across the gym. Luckily I found it and it just snapped back into the base, but I was worried for a second. I did buy the extra warranty just in case. Overall, its easy to use and I use it almost everyday with no issues. I am thinking about buying one for my mom for christmas.

Works perfectly and much cheaper and smaller than the iPod Only downside is no click wheel ... but if you can figure out how to use the buttons fast enough then the scrolling is not a problem (pushing the down button fast skips alphabets as well) All in all .. well worth it.

I had wanted an iPod for my birthday, and I bugged my parents about it for weeks. I was a little disppointed when I initially unwrapped my birthday presents and discovered a Creative Zen instead of an iPod nano, but once I got the adorable thing out of its package i absolutely fell in love. Its so cute - its tiny and colorful and it has a lanyard/necklace you can put on it, so its easy to carry. It has basically the same organization style as an iPod, the only difference being the fact that it has a joystick instead of a touchpad. Not only does it display album art, but you can also change its backround color. Smaller and lighter than most other mp3 players, it holds a lot of music as well as pictures, videos, and books, has a built in radio tuner as well. Seriously, this thing is amazing, and its definitely waaay better than any kind of iPod ever could be. I love it, and I recommend it to anyone who wants a light, durable mp3 player that they plan on using a lot - a few hours of charge gives you 15 hours of play!

When I first got this product, it had some kind of glitch/bug it had to work out. Somehow it worked itself out with in 1/2 a day. works well and has good, long-lasting battery. Over all, I am happy with my purchase.

I love this player. You can see the album art. It sounds great (although you'll need to get better earphones). You can get about 40 albums on it at 128 kbps. All sorts of functions available and very small.

Its a good little peice at a good price. It has almost everything you would expect from a media player. low resolution video, audio,playlists,compatibility with windows media player v.11. A good company on short travels. Dont forget to upgrade the firmware for this device online when you receive this.

Just bought the Zen V+ as a gift. I have the Creative Zen Vision M for myself. Buy.com had the Zen V+ on sale for a great price, plus a coupon discount, so I felt it was a good time to purchase it. I was looking at cheaper Sansas, but with the sale and coupon, I decided to get it since I was happy with the Vision M. I like the size and feel of it in my hand and how it easily fits in my pocket. And I think that the sound is even better than the Vision M. It has a warm sound. I put some photos on it and they are very clear. Small, but look good. I feel it is a great little player. I cannot comment on reliability since it is a gift, so all I did was put a few songs and pictures on it before giving it.

The player was smaller than I expected, and very easy to use. No problems with the software (though it is bundled with stuff I didn't need or want, and had to delete after). Sound has been great, the navigation simple and easy to use, and the value (65 bucks for 1000 songs) seems like it can't be beat.

At first glance looks cute. Girls would love it more than guys, gave it as a gift to my fiance. You need to spend about 2 to 4 hours understanding the different utilities which come in a CD with this product, to utilize it to the best extent possible. Average video display, but i wont rate it down, as it a great value add for viewing small clips. This does have a problem, like when you drop it on you sofa or bed even though having a soft landing, it shuts off automatically, knwing that i just restart it when it does happen. Overall a good buy recommended, but not highly recommended as it would serve better to invest in their higher end ranges and get more storage space to utlize this to the best.

I like the creative. It is a great value for the preformance/cost. I had some problems with my computer "seeing" the player. After calling creative, and getting great service, all I needed to do was to reboot the player and everything was great. The creative music organizer was not user friendly so I use windows media player to manage my music

It was very smooth process and great price on Buy.com. I wish there was bigger selection of colors, but that's minor. Too bad it doesn't come with chargers, it refused to charge on my home computer. I'm a little disappointed that it doesn't work with Win2k and WMP9, that's why it is 4 stars for me. I normally can't use earbuds, but these sound so good that I am forcing myself to wear them.

I love this MP3 Player. I listen to audio books a lot. This Zen has 10 bookmarks and works perfectly with Net Library and Audible Books. I like its size as well. It has a sleep timer that is great. It froze once but reset with a paperclip and has been fine ever since. I was clicking the joystick too quickly.

I had searched for months for a decently priced MP3 player (min 2GB) for my children - 8 and 10. I purchased a Memorex one from Target for $89 that was 2GB but it wasn't as nice as this one and it was too difficult for my kids to charge. I had to plug it into the USB and hit the reset button a few times before it would start charging. Almost a year later, enter the Zen V Plus. Although the kids wanted different colors than the white and lime green, they are VERY happy with the purchase. The excitement to see the colors in the screen, the photos, the FM player, the MP3s and the factory installed videos were praised for a day or so as well. I haven't fully played with all the functionality but the ease of syncing music and photos with the player is a definite plus. I'm sure video is the same although the kids have no real need for this as I will have to make/convert/sync any video files. The ear buds that came with the player leave something to be desired in sound but I used some I got for like 9.99 and sounds just great. So, to make a long story short. This is a great player for the buck $69.99 on buy.com was the best price ANYWHERE when I bought it.

Crystal clear picture/movie good resloution.. Gr8 to have the big video with less price The only feature which i didn't like with this is no provision for micro SD card slot for extra storage.

Tried to download 30 minute tracks of Spanish lessons. Player crashes when downloading tracks larger than 17.9 MB, even with upgraded firmware. After two hours of use, the 5-way white joystick button split in half and disappeared into the player. Reading the threads on the Creative web site revealed others have had this problem and that it can take 3 months to get a repair from Creative because their support is terrible. I'm just starting the process for a replacement with them now, so we'll see how it goes. (I can't return it to Buy.com because I threw out the packaging that their return policy requires and don't feel like going dumpster diving for it.) For the two hours the player functioned (with normal music albums), I was pleased with it. Sound quality was fine, menus were clear, and it seemed like a good value. I worked around the 17.9 MB problem by converting the lessons to mono at the lowest bit rate to get the size of a track down to 8 MB. But until I figured it out, I wasted a lot of time having to reformat the file system and reload all music, since the "library rebuild" program kept crashing on the large track. I suppose I could keep using it with the broken joystick, since there's enough of a stub that remains to operate it with a fingernail, but that shouldn't be necessary with a new product. I would suggest anyone considering buying this product spend a little time reading comments on the Creative web site. To the company's credit, they haven't removed all the negative comments there.

I purchased this for my wife for Mother's Day. Picked it up here at buy.com for $69.99 shipped (great price). My wife listens to books either on CD or MP3 Players. Our Library's no longer offer the MP3 download service so my wife found a different service. She paid to use the service but then found out her MP3 player isn’t support with them. So I purchased this Creative Labs MP3 Player for her for Mother’s Day. It works great with the MP3 book download service, can’t remember the name of the service. She has also downloaded a few songs and put them on it. She says everything works great, the FM radio, MP3 Books & Songs etc… She said this player is much easier to use than her old Samsung MP3 player (Samsung Player looked like a Flash Drive). Great product so far!

I bought this for my 7 yr old daughter. She loves it. I've only encountered 2 problems so far. Somehow she has locked up the player twice. It doesn't respond to any buttons including power down and connecting the USB cable. But it works fine after the battery discharges and it's recharged. It hasn't happened in a few weeks so I'm not too worried about it. The other thing is the software wants to register. This "gentle reminder" isn't. I didn't have access to the player when the software asked me to plug it in and register. I tried to cancel the dialog but it keeps popping up and it will not give up. That is irritating. My son has an ipod that's the same capacity but w/o video. It cost him almost twice as much. This player rates better than the ipod to me.

I've had my Creative Zen V Plus about 3 weeks now, and I'm very happy with it. One complaint I read was that it didn't save your place if it shut down. This is true if you have simply paused the Play button; however, intentionally shut down the player yourself and it will start up at the place where you stopped it. To me, this player is an ideal size; not too large and not too small. Sound quality is excellent, and I find the controls very easy to use.

This mp3 player has two big advantages for us -- it supports Audible files, which several other models from other companies do not. It is also smaller and lighter than other 2gig players with color screens. The little joystick selector is a little awkward, but ultimately this thing seems great.

It's small. I mean tiny. For some reason, I had it in my head it would be 'bout the size of a pack of smokes. Nope, smaller. A quarter of the size and weight of an IPOD. Anyways, it holds approx. 300 songs (2GB) with a couple of different ways to access them. It will play video and still pics and the video display is pretty impressive. Play lists are fun to make. Using it with Rhapsody software, it's very easy to load quickly. Drag and drop baby. Battery life is good and the audio is actually better than I expected with the included ear-buds. The buttons are precise and feel solid. Yeah, I dropped it. No ill effects as far as I can tell. Hey, it's no IPOD, but for $77.00 I love it. Did I mention how small it is?

I got this bad boy on Friday. I love it! I tried downloading my music a few differant ways. I'm now using Media Player 11. This lets me see he album art on the player. It's pretty easy to use once you get used to the controls. It's the best gym MP3 player I've ever had.

The user interface is great--very similar to IPods. The headphones it comes with sound decent (of course, you might want to upgrade to something really good if you listen this way a lot). I love the recording line-in feature. I record the Daily Show to my Zen and then listen to it on the way to work. You can also record music at good fidelity (either 128k or 160k). Great device.

My system crashed after the installation of the accompanied software. Just google ctsyncu.exe. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&&q=ctsyncu.exe ctsyncu.exe as part of the Creative software is already on the list of the problematics...

I knew this would be a good unit, the audio on a par with my Cowan Iaudio player. Two things - a bad connection at the player's USB port turned out to be the cable, not the player and the interface to drag and drop files is more complicated than it could be. Windows explorer treats my Iaudio player like just another removable drive - nothing fancy.

I'm not a high tech person so I wasn't sure if I should even purchase an MP3 player, but wanted one just the same. After looking at several MP3 players, I decided on the Zen V Plus and I'm EXTREMELY HAPPY with my choice. The price was great and the Zen V Plus is very easy to load with my favorite music and create my play lists. It's size is great too, I like the way it fits in the palm of your hand and the joy stick navigation menu is very simple. If your looking for a an MP3 player and you're still undecided, look no further, the Zen V Plus from Creative is a little gem.
