Great sound quality, battery life is also pretty good. Just I wish it had the functionality to sort songs by title. As I add more songs to existing playlists, the order of songs gets messed up. Anyway, a nice player for the price.

I had considered an ipod but after further thought I decided on the Zen for the ability to transfer different music formats from sources other tham itunes. I dropped the player which resulted in hard drive damage but creative repaired the unit for cost of shipping. I use it daily in my auto and only recharge it about once a week. Will purchase another Zen in the future for my fiance.

This player turned out to be a great overall value. Although i have some complaints, most of them are minor and adjustable. A good alternative to the higher priced ipods, i recommend this to everyone looking to save some money. The features are comparable to the older 20 GB version of the ipod, and saving $100 has made me quite happy.

I got this for Christmas in 2004 and I still use it today! The battery life is great. At first I wasn't impressed with the software but a couple of months ago they posted some updated software and it's much better now. And, they updated the firmware so it supports PlayForSure, the technology that allows you to use subscription services like Napster, Yahoo Music, MSN Music, etc. that allow you to have all-you-can-eat music for a monthly fee. My only gripe if I had one was that the touch scrolling can be over or undersensitive. Maybe since I bought mine they've improved it, I don't know.

This thing is very durable. It flew off my desk and bounced across the room. I looked it over and it still looks and acts new. Also survived a 2 year old!. I have used it alot and have yet needed to charge the battery. Sound quality is great with included earbuds, but sucks big with altec lanseg ear buds. They are a little painful on the ear after a few minutes, do purchase the high dollar ear buds for comfort.

The player and user interface is very good. Battary life is unbeatbale. It lasts a week on a single charge. The Random feature is really great. Drawbacks, -To enable voice recording and FM tuner, you have to buy a external remote (cost $50 at their website) -You can not use the controls when the player is in the case -Not really plug and play, you need the Nomad Explorer software for drag and drop and auto sync features. I would recommend this player to my friends and family.

Having never used an iPod, I can't proclaim the Zen Touch to be superior or give any comparisons other than it's price, which with a buy.com coupon came in at $115 cheaper than the 20 GB iPod's retail price of $299. That was enough to sell me if it works half way decent. Well, I found it to work very decently indeed. I was able to put my whole CD collection of over 300 CDs on it. The touch pad works really well once I got the hang of it, which took very little time. The software was a bit difficult to just pull up and figure out, but a little reading in the pdf user guide got me over that stumbling block. The sound is great. The battery life is phenomenal. I can run it all week without recharging it. I have it connected to an auxilary jack on my car stereo, use it in the gym, and to mow the yard. My only complaints are very minor. The headphone earbuds are a bit too big for my ears, which for what I saved I can buy some top of line headphones. Also, the carrying case covers up the display and touch pad. That being said, I can't see how Apple could possibly justify my spending the extra $115 for an iPod.

this is a product that is well worth the money...for a mp3 w/ 20gb under $200 thats just unheard of. well this is a very basic yet simplistic and easy to use player. the touch sensitive scroll is what makes it better than something like the dell jukebox but the lack of features is what brings this player down. it looks quite appealing however it is signifigantly larger than the ipod as well. not only is it larger but it is heavier by a lot too! the battery life isnt 24 hours so dont get tricked. it is wma formatted for 24 hours and holds approximately 5000 songs not 10000 . overall a A but take these things i said into consideration before purchasing. for a teenager like myself it is perfect because all i need is something to play my music and if that is what you are looking for your in for a deal!

Very simple interface allows for ease of installation and operation. Almost everyone I know who owns an Ipod (over 10 people) has had major problems getting their computer to properly install the Ipod. The Nomad Touch has no such major issues, and acts exactly the same as would an Ipod. For individuals looking for a less expensive Ipod alternative, I applaud you and HIGHLY recommend this unit. I also recommend an FM Transmitter that can broadcast the signal from your Nomad (or ANY handheld audio device) to your car stereo! With the money you save by purchasing a Nomad instead of an Ipod, you could buy an inexpensive FM transmitter and still go out to a few very nice dinners! Highly recommended.

This is really a wonderful little MP3 player, and for the price, a worthy competitor for the iPod. The Zen Touch has a nice "solid" feel, wonderful battery life and the on-screen user interface is easy to use. The touch pad scroll mechanism can be a little sensitive, but very nice once you get used to it. Best of all is the Zen Touch's sound quality - it is incredible! When coupled with a set of good earphones (Sony MDR-EX71SL for instance), I've heard few things with better, more lively sound ...

I was looking for mp3 players and I wanted to get an ipod, but then I found the Creative Zen Touch. It was $70 cheaper than any ipod and had the same memory. Creative products as a whole have better sound quality than any of the ipods. So I compared the two. An ipod just like eveyone else for $300 or a Zen Touch for $230 with better sound quality. Oh and did I mention that the Zen Touch has the best battery life on the market! It lasts for 24 hours. I have had mine for a little over a month now and have only had to reacharge it 3 or 4 times. I am a college student so I listen to it while walking to class and while doing homework, so it gets used often. The touch pad took me about 10 minutes to get used to, but once I had it mastered, I realized that it is much more efficient than the ipod's. To scoll quickly on the ipod you must run your finger around and around. With the Zen Touch you just have to hold down on the bottom or top of the touch pad and it scrolls fast automatically. For normal scrolling the middle of the touch pad is used. It is a very pratical and easy to use feature of this product. The combination of the price, performance, and battery life made this a great buy.

This is a great player. For all those anti-Apple people who want to join in on this mp3 player craze, the Zen Touch is the way to go. Sounds great, its easy to use (the touch pad is not as sensitive, to me at least, as other reviewers pointed out). Great deal for the price too. Can't wait to get all my music on it.

the zen touch is a great MP3 player. i find it incredibly easy to use, both the software and the player itself. although the touchpad can be slightly tricky at times, i don't find it to be difficult at all. the search function is wonderful and makes scrolling through songs infinitely easier. it sounds great, looks great, and is definitely worth the money. overall a really great buy.

great mp3 player. i've used the infamous ipod and honestly i don't think it compares to my zen touch. the zen is slightly larger than the ipod, but not big enough to feel bulky or anything. the mp3 player has great sound quality and the software is incredibly user-friendly. don't think twice about getting this awesome player.

An excellent Mp3 player, I must say I am very impressed. The sound quality is excelent. It is EXTREMELY easy to use. It takes about 10sec to figure it out. Yes it may not have as much features as an Ipod, but hey its cheeper, plays WMA, and has a 24hr battery life. If u want alot of features for around the same price i'd recomend the Zen micro. Or u can hop on the Ipod band waggon

I recently bought this Zen Touch and have been pleasantly surprised with how much better it is than an Ipod. While the rest of the world is slowly converting to Ipods, I am proud to say I did not conform to society's commercialized pressure of buying an overpriced Ipod that does the same thing as all the others. First of all, Creative has a strong background in music products, so the player has much better sound quality. Ipods are made by Mac, and are Macs first real attempt at sound products. Second of all and probably most important, the Zen Touch can be bought for around $210-$230 at 20G capacity. Ipods are anywhere from $300-$400 for 20G and thus more money for the same product. The Zen Touch is plenty easy to use and the battery lasts double that of an Ipod (24 hours compared to 12). If you are in the market for a large capacity MP3 player, don't waste your time on an Ipod, you're only paying for the name.

The zen touch is an awesome player and the best bang for your buck too. I bought it for $219. I've used an Ipod 3rd gen and an Iriver flash player before, this one has the best sound quality. I think the Zen touch could beat out the Ipod easily if only they had more money to run ad campaigns like Apple. Even though the zen touch is a little thicker than the Ipod 4th gen it still fits comfortably into any pocket. The touch pad is awesome once you get used to it which is only about 5-10 minutes. My only complaint with this player is the lack of a sleep timer and other features that were on the previous Zen's. The battery life is amazing as I didn't even have to recharge the whole week (I used it about 2-3 hrs a day). You can't go wrong with this player.

Being able to play WMA and MP3 music is available anywhere.. not only itunes. Great music player, easy to navigate, use, the best battery life, copy your music to the player using windows media player or almost any other music software.

I heard a lot of good things about Creative. Some of my co-workers mentioned how well their Creative MP3 players worked. None had the new Zen Touch though. At first I was sceptical, it being a new product built to challenge the Ipod's touch-sensor navigation. I have to admit that the touch pad on the Zen Touch is a little weird getting used to. Despite the sensitivity set on low, it still can scroll faster than I want it to. It may be that I'm still not quite fully used to using it, it being the 1st day I have owned this. The variable speed scroll is a cool feature however. Even with this minor challenge, the cost($50 cheaper than an Ipod), quality, and battery life are more than enough to convince me I made the right choice.
