Got this a few weeks ago and, even being a little tech- challenged as I am, I had it fully charged and loaded with music in just a couple of hours. The rechargeable ion battery is wonderful! Although the "instruction book" is only 5 pages of very brief instruction, you can get everything you need from the Creative website, including a PDF file you can save to reference even when you are off-line--believe me you will need it to fill in everything they left out of the "instruction book". I'm not someone who wanted to store thousands of songs, like on an IPod; I just wanted several hours of my favorite playlist. It's so easy to go back on to Media Player where I have all my music stored and just load something different, so this nifty little player was a great find!

I am very plased with the sound quality even when using a reduced bit rate (48kb/sec) which allows me to fit up to 17 albums on the device. Another reviewer commented on the fragility of the battery compartment door. This is correct. Though it is not necessasary to open it often (it did open on it's own in my shirt pocked once). But one must be very carefull. Instructions were very minimal and it took me a while to figure out how to use it all to it's fullest, and I recommend using Windows Media player rather then the software that comes with it. My only complaint on performance is that every so often there is a brief break in the music (<1 second). It's random and not very often.
