Great Value and works OK. The biggest issue was the software that came with it did not install. After trying several times to install it, I noticed that the CD was warped. I had to download the software and install it which was a pain. Was this review helpful?

I purchased this PCMCIA adapter to use with a very old Compaq laptop without an ethernet port, but with a PCMCIA slot. My first consideration was price and this adapter was inexpensive. Software installed easily and connected automatically to nearby open network. I haven't tried using WEP, but for open wireless connections, this adapter works without a hitch. Better range than my Netgear WG511, even with a Netgear wifi router, but sometimes drops the connection, even with a strong signal (the RALink win2k drivers are more up to date and help a lot, but don't completely solve the problem). Otherwise would be 5 stars across the board. Still, it reconnects quickly and gives me a connection in parts of the house that were dead before. Can't beat the price after rebate. I've used this card for over a week. Good range, good throughput. No drop-out or intermittent problems.
The install software would not correctly install the software (I'm using XP SP2). I allowed Windows to install it from the drivers on the provided CD, and it worked fine. Was this review helpful?

Card installed without too much of problem and it is working just fine. Signal seems to be pretty good also. The only thing that I think they can improve is the software that came with the device. I didn't find it to be very user friendly. You can't go wrong with the price. Was this review helpful?

Great value with rebate - even without rebate. Had to load drivers for 98SE but if you still use W98 that should be no problem for you.
MIMO technology is awesome and it will run on some of the older secure network - probably wont run on W98 on the latest stuff but I use WAP anyway.. Was this review helpful?

Works as expected, 100% plug and play on Vista, didn't even have to go vendor's website for drivers - vista took care of everything. Looks like it's RALink chipset - should work very well for packet injection and wifi cracking on Linux... Was this review helpful?

Plugged it in to an old 333mhz Gateway solo5150 laptop running XP.
Had to use the included CD to get the drivers.
5 bars if you are in the same room as the wifi router.
When you starting going through walls it goes fast down to 1-2 bars but still workable.
If the rebate shows up it's a good value, but you can have other basic 802.11b cards for $20 shipped that may have better signal strength.
