I've been using this router for over a month now in my apartment and it's been okay.
Firmware upgrade:
Right after I got the router, I tested it (it worked), and I installed the firmware upgrade. The firmware upgrade was designed to be used with a MS Windows computer (the script on the update page looks for a ":" from the C:\ and rejects anything else). I don't normally use MS Windows, so this was annoying. After loading the upgrade, the router only displayed blank pages. So I took a risk and hard-restarted the router. After that, it worked and I have not had to restart it since.
Reliability:
After using it for about a day, the router started to reject connections to it (couldn't associate). So I plugged my laptop into the router via Ethernet cable, went to the Wireless setting page, clicked configure, and save (without making any changes). That mysteriously fixed it and the connection has been good since (though my roommate who plays online games tells me that he drops on occasion).
Features:
QoS on this router is confusing so I left it disabled; but I think higher number priorities should be faster. The router has more speeds than 54, 6, 11, and 1Mbps (has more fall-back speeds for when the signal strength isn't good).
Other:
It gets pretty warm. The plastic face in the front was slightly misaligned (but not terrible). Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Nice Product Monday, June 23, 2008 burris from Aventura Fl
I've had this for a few weeks now and it works quite well..
A snap to set up.
One of the main reasons for buying it was the mention of QOS along with PPPoE built-in...since I use VOIP and DSL exclusively, this was important.
The DOCS were not too clear on its setup, so after upgrading the firmware, I e-mailed support with this question. Their quick response was that their engineers were working on new firmware and in about a month, when it was ready, they would e-mail me with full instructions for the QOS programming..

5 of 5 Works Great and Great Deal Sunday, June 15, 2008 A Customer from Detroit, Michigan
I have been shopping for similar product for a while. I wanted to purchase a brand name and had my mind set on it. When I saw this Level One on sale with rebate, I figure I would give it a shot based on the reviews I read. I wasn't really expecting much. Also, thought it would be a problem due to Internet phone or VOI I have.
After receiving this, I plugged it in to the my PC and ran the labtop as well. This works amazingly great. The range is awesome. I can take it to any room in the house, backyard, or front portch without any issues. As a matter of fact, I am getting all bars strenth. This works great with Comcast fast speed cable.
Boy, I am happy I took a chance on Level One. I would highly recommend this product, especially when on special. Was this review helpful?

PROS: I use this unit wired and it does not drop connections as my prior 2 routers did.
CON: I've been trying to get tech support to help me configure the QOS, the reason I bought it and so far no success. I'm sure it is just figuring how to fill in the blanks but haven't gotten it right yet. Was this review helpful?

This is not a wireless broadband router -it is a wireless broadband access point and needs to be physically connected to a computer.
The advert is misleading.
The delivery was quick, shame the product was not as advertised. Was this review helpful?

The router has lots of interesting features but fails to perform a simple function - "Maintain connectivity". The router drops connections every 5-10 minutes(works better if security is disabled, about 45 minutes). Don't waste your time or money on it. Was this review helpful?

The first router I tried was Belkin G plus bought from D&H part F5D72314 and it was junk. This little router from CP Technologies was very easy to setup and give me the wireless signal throughout my home. It allowed enjoying my kitchen with my laptop. It's been up and running without a reset since installation day which can't be said of the Belkin. Best purchase I have made in a long time and the price after rebate is too crazy to believe. 5 of 5 Great product can't beat the price Thursday, May 15, 2008 Casualbum from Westminster
This router WBR-3408 from LevelOne/CPTechnologies works great, easy to setup, good signal strength. My previous router (Netgear WGR614) was not able to broadcast the wireless signal, the WBR-3408 took care of that issue. Now I am able to roam freely even in my back patio. The WBR-3408 does have noticeable heat if it is being place on another device that need proper ventilation, the heat problem was gone when I place it next to my cable modem instead of on top of it. I can't believe this litle thing can do so much for the price I paid. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Satisfied Monday, March 31, 2008 Bill D. from Lake Worth, Florida
I bought the product for its QOS capability. Easy to setup and operate as a basic wireless router.
Con: Limited documentation requires advanced to expert computer knowledge, i.e. network engineer, to understand many of the settings.
Pro: Technical support individual was extremely helpful and took a personal interest in helping me setup the router to utilize the QOS function for my VOIP. He also acknowledged the documentation shortcomings and indicated that improvements would be made.
Overall: It performs well for my requirements. Cost was relatively low. I am very satisfied with the product and feel is a good value. Was this review helpful?

Great price, easy to set up ... but after 10 - 15 min of use, it would overheat to the point where it stopped working. Unplugged, let it set for 30 min, worked again great for first 10-15 min and would overheat again. Maybe "too small" and not enough heat dissipation. Was this review helpful?
