Product Guides

The Corsair Flash Survivor line of USB drives is designed to be ultra rugged, extremely durable, water resistant, and reliable. These unique features make the Flash Survivor line of USB drives perfect for transporting valuable data and applications without worries of damage and data loss. The target customer for the Flash

The Survivor is for those who approach technology with a Bring It On! Attitude, someone who doesn’t want to worry if his/her equipment can stand up to the active lifestyle they lead. The Flash Survivor family of USB drives can weather the storm of everyday life while ensuring the data is safe.

Water Resistant to 200 Meters / 20 Atmospheres
Each Flash Survivor or Flash Survivor GT USB drive is sealed with an EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) waterproof seal. This innovative design allows the Flash Survivor to withstand the rigors of water resistance testing up to 200 meters, which translates into unprecedented toughness, even under water.

Shock Proof . Triple Point Protection
The Flash Survivor features triple-point protection against shock and impact:

  • Encased in CNC (Computer Numerical Control) milled aluminum as found in aircraft part production, ensures consistency in material quality, thereby guaranteeing the USB drives toughness. CNC-milled aluminum is the most durable material ever used on a USB drive.
  • Additional protection from shock and vibration is achieved through the use of rubber molded collar shielding. When dropped, the durable rubber absorbs the impact force to prevent damage to the inner drive and the USB connector.
  • Engineered outer metal tube with two end caps provides enforcement to the hollow tube and prevents it from collapsing when abused.

    Security
The Flash Survivor family of USB drives is pre-loaded with a security application that allows users to create hidden, password-protected partitions on the drive. The password is encrypted with 256bit AES encryption, the most secure encryption algorithms available.

    4 of 5 Fantastic Speed Sunday, December 21, 2008
    tinsnow from Portland, OR

The speed of the drive is very good. I bought it to use it as a Vista ReadyBoost. It made my computer fast. Initially the drive is formatted with FAT32 and vista ready boost will not work. Just format it with NTFS and it will work. The price is a bit high for this capacity

    3 of 5 Veryyyyy Slow Monday, August 06, 2007
    A Customer from USA
This is a well made product with an extremely good design. It is however bulky in size but not too heavy in weight. The cap is a screw on so it stays tight and will not come off under any circumstances that I can see. The case is so strong that damage to the drive under normal conditions is highly unlikely (dropping, stepping, even accidentally washing it). The drive is a breeze to setup. I have used it on at least a dozen different machines and operating system configurations and it works flawlessly. There is a short pause the first time you plug it as windows works on recognize it then it’s pretty much instant on. The drive is extremely slow, not really any slower than some of the crappy cheap drives out there but slow none the less. To give you an example copying 4,500 mixed file sized files takes almost 20 minutes and on an older model LEXAR that I have it takes only 5.5 minutes. This is due to the fact that this drive uses cheaper memory modules. Read speed is OK though on this drive. If write speed is not an issue get the drive it’s great in every way but if write speed is crucial avoid it like the plague. It does come with encryption software for those that have a need for such a thing. Because of its size may block adjacent USB ports rendering them useless while the drive is plugged in.
