At the heart of all the change is a migration from Intel's 65nm process that all Core 2 Duo processors have used up until now to the smaller, more power efficient 45nm technology. Less die size doesn't always mean less power and heat, but in this case the 45nm process that Intel has developed seems to have no problems delivery on that part....read the full review

I planned to use this processor intensively with the Folding@Home project. All four cores would be run at 100% usage 24/7. I was concerned about heat, but shouldn't have worried. At stock speeds the core temps stayed around 50c after 24 hour continuous processing! The 45nm process really has helped reduce current and therefore heat. If you can afford the price I recommend this over all others.

I work with CG, so I need to render almost everyday, and what I can tell you about this processor, is a piece of heaven in earth, I always thought that Intel was better than AMD and now they kicked them! Buy it if u can, you will be complete satisfied. No doubt.
