5 of 5 AWESOME!! Tuesday, February 03, 2009 That Guy from Springfield Illinois
First I have to give credit to buy.com and Fedex, I normally buy from newegg but buy.com had the better price and 10 dollar first time customer promo code. I ordered on a Sunday night, it was processed and shipped Monday night with 3-5 day shipping, I received it Tuesday afternoon, shipped from carol stream Illinois to Springfield Illinois all in less than 24 hours!!! paid 13 dollars for standard 3-5 day shipping only to receive in less than 20 hours GREAT DEAL!
This case is amazing! love the heavy duty steel construction, even the accessory box is made of steel although the finish does scratch easily. Removing side panels is extremely easy, HDD cages are great, SILENT and COOL!! 4 fans 1 being the CPU fan I can't hear any of them at all +1 to the acoustic foam on both side panels. If you have your eye on this case and cant decide--stop thinking about it and DO IT! you wont regret it. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Very good case, Except, it has one fault Thursday, January 15, 2009 James Davis from Brooksville, FL.
I love the case and how it is designed. However, the big handles are not mounted very securely and become loose easily. Also, there doesn't seem to be a way to get to the mounting bolts in order to tighten them. Otherwise, the case is excellent. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 CoolerMaster Cosmos case ROCKS! Sunday, September 14, 2008 Joe Baldwin Jr. from Fort Worth, Texas
This has got to be the coolest case I've ever got my hands on. From the way the side panels pop off with just the push of a latch to the slide out solid metal hard drive bays and the click lock setup for the external bays. It's heavy and solid as a rock. The only thing missing for me is a slide out motherboard tray. Besides that this case is locked c*cked and ready to rock! Was this review helpful?

I review from the perspective of the Cosmos family (1000, 1010, and S), because the Cosmos frame is pretty much #1 in the market right now for design. (The Stacker is #1 for performance. The Antec 900 is #1 for value.)
<br><br>
The Cosmos 1000 case is great. The Cosmos 1010 is basically the same thing with a side fan and an ESA fan board - not worth the additional cost and complicates fan options. The Cosmos S is a lot like a gigantic Antec 900 but looks like a rice burner car and gets fingerprints everywhere with the gimmicky touch power panel and cheapo slide door.
<br><br>
Cost wasn't really an issue, but I went with this Cosmos 1000 anyway. Most good fans are 3-pin (like the Scythe S-FLEX SFF21E I'm putting in) so I didn't want the 1010 ESA case.

One issue on this case (and the 1010) is the hard drive area. You need to relocate a fan from the bottom of the case to the top of the hard drive vent (coolermaster has a PDF to show you how, but it's obvious you just snap off & snap on.) That will cool things very well unless you get over 4 drives and have to start stacking them in right next to each other. At that point you will need to take more drastic measures or possibly go with something like the Cosmos S.
<br><br>
Also, the Cosmos S is all aluminum (1000 steel is about 15 pounds heavier) and has a darker titanium coat on the metal which doesn't have the same classic feel or appearance. I really like the look & feel of brushed steel. I think the 1000 / 1010 is the best case for combo of silence, looks, and ease of install out there right now IF you don't have something like a fan controller that sticks out of a drive bay and would prevent the door from closing. That is the second problem, nothing can stick out of the drive bays or the door won't close. (Without the door on, the case looks like butt.) If you want to watercool, run 6 HDs, have tons of drive bays, put LEDs everywhere, or have massive/loud airflow, then I would recommend the Cosmos S or Stacker series.

I want an overclocked, cool running, pretty, silent, and functional case. The Cosmos 1000 is all of the above. One last thing, you will love the USB/firewire/eSata on top. I can't say enough what a convenience that is.

Buy.com is by far the cheapest vendor of this case considering they have FREE ship on this! ~20 bucks saved given the 40 pound monster. Whatever your choice, good luck! Was this review helpful?
