The third volume in Collectables' summation of the Modernaires' period on Columbia covers just over a year in the group's time between two high-profile gigs: with the Glenn Miller Orchestra on a parade of mid-'40s hits, and serving Frank Sinatra in a similar capacity (though with far fewer hits). Just under half of the 19 titles feature the Modernaires backing a solo artist; Doris Day's "Thoughtless" is by far the best, followed by her other appearance with the group, "It's a Quiet Town (In Crossbone County)."
