Author Bio
Jim Thompson
Jim Thompson always bragged that he was born in a prison. Actually, he was born in an apartment above the prison, in a town where his father was sheriff. Thompson sold his first short story to "True Detective" when he was just 14, and continued writing for the rest of his life. He is known for his dark and violent vision, and his cynical view of human nature. Although he had limited commercial success in his lifetime, the popularity of his books soared in the years after his death, and several of his books, including "The Grifters", "The Getaway" and "After Dark, My Sweet", became major motion pictures.
