| | | Those old photo frames atop your dresser, desk, night stand and on your walls are vignettes of memories captured as prints in the era of film cameras. The Digital-Camera makes available a technology where photos don't have to be displayed as prints. They're displayed on screen, much like that of a TV set or a Computer monitor. This frame uses LCD flat-panel technology and, at 2-1/4" deep, fits almost anywhere a standard frame would. The difference - this frame is not limited to display only 1 or a few pictures. A digital picture frame can display dozens (if not hundreds) of images off a digital-memory card.
Here's a dandy way to display all those digital photos you're accumulating. Display one or all (in slideshow mode) directly from an SD, MMC, xD, or CompactFlash memory card. It's a great way to view your favorites on a table or on a wall - just like a regular picture frame. Yet COBY DP772 adds a unique feature. It has built-in speakers so you can play MP3 and WMA Music files from your memory cards. You can even create photo slideshows with music. The DP772 has a USB port that lets you play photos stored on digital media drives. Its LED Backlit screen delivers bright images for viewing in almost any situation.
This is a perfect frame to give to your parents and grandparents. Let them see pictures of you all the time from a memory card you provide them. It has a Dual-volt AC Adapter for international capability.

2 of 5 Not as expected Wednesday, January 02, 2008 A Customer from New York, NY
The resolution of this product is too low. Definitely not as nice as shown in the Product Image. Was this review helpful?
2 of 5 Low quality screen Wednesday, December 19, 2007 A Customer from Champaign, IL
The screen is low-res and pixelated. It's not worthy of being purchased at all in my opinion, no matter how low the price is. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Digital picture frame 7" Coby Wednesday, December 05, 2007 A Customer from New York, NY
This is a pretty good item for people who don't have computers and are missing out on all the electronic photos. Especially grandparents. The only problem I have is the resolution is a little poor on some photos, and that when these items are promoted, the purchaser should be told the cost of an SD card, or flash drive, or othermemory device that is necessary to store the pictures. 4 of 5 Easy to Use Monday, December 03, 2007 A Customer from NY, NY
Nice product with good screen. Fairly easy to get started with the loading process. It would be nice if it started playing pictures automatically once turned on. But for the money well worth it.

I don't have much experience about digital photo frames but this one is pretty good, esp for the price you pay for it. other frames are def. much more expensive. the picture comes out real clear if you have the right image size. its not enough to just resize it, you gotta crop it and then resize it. i cropped all my photos to a 16:9 ratio and then made it 480x270 like a previous reviewer wrote and the picture was good. the wide screen is the only bad thing about this product. everything else was just great. if your putting it horizontally then pictures that are of your whole body won't look too good. I used an avi file for the video and it was fine. i didn't resize it though cause i don't plan to use that for show. for the price, get it. you won't find something of this quality for its price. I bought the 7" for my mother to travel with and I bought the 10" for my husband to use in his office at work. For the price difference, the 10" is much better. Very easy to use and download from computer or camera. Each size have the same functions and frames, but the pictures look soooooo much better in the 10" size, they are brighter and more clear. I bought as a birthday gift for my boss and loaded photos to a memory card so all he had to do was plug in the frame. He loved it! I am not the most technologically advanced camera and computer user but was easily able transfer jpg format, landscape style digital pictures quickly and easily to a memory card for use in this frame. Even the portrait style pictures are viewable although they do not fill the frame. It's a great way to share your digital photos with persons who do not use computers or digital cameras. Great Value! This Coby Digital Frame works great. I've tried other frames at this price point and was not happy with the quality of the picture. I bought this for my wife to have at her office. She really likes it and her co-workers think its great. Was this review helpful?

This product works well if you format the pictures for the correct aspect ratio and shrink them to the proper resolution. Previous reviewer who recommended the free Faststone editor was correct, thanks!!
The picture frame is an odd resolution and if you just throw unformatted pictures at it it will have black bars on either side and be grainy. The black bars can be removed by hitting zoom once or formatting the photos. The grainy look is because the display engine doesn't re-sample the image when it shrinks it. If you use a good image editor program to reduce the images it will fix this.
Very nice that it has a remote and USB connection for this price! The slideshow can be be programmed to run at many different intervals and is really nice. The brightness is good and pixel density is not bad if the images are formatted to it.
This would be 5 stars if the aspect ratio were 4:3 instead of beyond widescreen. The video player also can not quite play 640x480 at 30fps. Was this review helpful?

Perhaps I expect a little too much from this product, the picture quality is only so so. Picture size is pretty small due to the odd size viewable area. Picture resolution is not that great (480x ??) and I have to crop the pictures to fit in the odd size screen. I bought this item based on the review I read here at Buy.com. The picture displayed in buy.com is photoshopped as the actual screen size is much narrower. I should have spent a little more on a bigger screen with higher resolution. For the price I pay, I gues this is a good product as a gift. Was this review helpful?

Got this for my mom with Alzheimers. Took a little while to figure out that I had to get the music and the photos in the right format on the SAME media card in order to run the photos in a slide show with music. But once I did that, all systems were go and it is terrific. You can use pretty much any kind of media device made, from USB to XD and the frame has all kinds of options for displaying your photos (you could change the photo once a day, run a slide show, select different transitions for changing photos, etc.), you can even play video, and the tiny remote is cool. All in all, it's great. Was this review helpful?

For the price this is a great Digital Picture Frame. I took the advice of another reviewer and downloaded the free resizing software, and it worked great. The only thing that confused me was that I had to "Reboot" the picture frame after copying photos to it, because it would not recognize some of the photos or show them as if they were corrupted, but after I figured it out it would display them all. The sound is also pretty good for MP3 player. This was a present for my father for father's day and he loved it. The LCD is bright and crisp. Was this review helpful?

Great Product from COBY. They are sure improving their products a lot in recent years.
About this product - i bought it for my brother for a bday gift. although he has laptops , etc. i thought this will be sitting pretty on his work desk and he can relax looking at the slideshow of the photos and the background mp3.
i was spot on , he liked it verymuch and happy with it.
as far as the difficulty goes with the product.
1. no internal memory (you can buy real cheap sd at meritline.com)
2. No video playback
other than this is is absolute blast!!!
least expensive with lots of features. Was this review helpful?

pro- does display fairly nice pictures and the card slot works well. I found playing video from card slot to be faster then usb(had less of a hard time playing it)The sound out of it is was better then i was expecting. video output jack works great.
Cons- very picky with video formats. If using the stand and have it on top of entertainment system the picture is very dark. Brightness knob/slide does not do much once you reach the half way point, you expect it to get brighter it just doesnt. Power button is hard to get to. Was this review helpful?

This product does what it says and does it well. Other frames I've used take a long time to change between pictures. This one allows you to view at your own pace, rather than wait for the frame to move on to the next one. Was this review helpful?

I bought three of these for Father's Day for myslef, my dad, and my father-in-law. It's a great value for the money. Easy to use. Versatile use with the multiple memory cards. It would be nice if it came with some internal memory, and the screen resolution could be better, but for $70 it's a great value. Was this review helpful?

The picture is clear and is great to keep your digitial pictures in view. No need to print out the pictures and you can put as many pictures as your SD card allows. Plays videos, songs, and slide shows also. The Digital Photo Frame is very easy to use and comes with a usefull remote (volume is only controled by the remote so do not loose). I have really enjoyed having it at home. Was this review helpful?

Over all good n innovative product. Good features and display quality
Upside:Good screen resolution, Easy of use, versatile functionality, solid inbuilt speaker, Good quality Mp3 player. Remote is very good
Downside : AV cable not included and no internal memory. Also if there would have been internal battery then it would make perfect combination Was this review helpful?

Just started using my digital frame today. It looks and works great. I do wish that the aspect ratio was a standard picture format (4x6 or 5x7 etc.). You can't beat the picture quality versus the price. I do like having the remote control to operate it. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Coby LCD Photo Frame Thursday, May 31, 2007 A Customer from Bloomington, IN
This is a nice product. The only thing that would improve it is a better menu system so that you could deal with directories and subdirectories of files on your storage medium. The display is small but bright and crisp. The music player worked fine. The price at Buy.com was very good. Was this review helpful?

I am very satisfied with this item - it's easy to use and load pictures and music. The only complain I have is that this frame is really wide-screen (not even 16x9, but even wider), which could not be told from either the picture or description. The manufacturer web-site does mention this feature, but Amazon, somehow omitted this info, so you'll need to crop your photos or zoom them (the frame does have zoom, which is handy for a still picture, but it does not work if you want a slide-show).
So, the frame is fine, just watch for the wide-screen.

I bought this frame for my mother (Mother's Day gift) and was very pleased with my purchase. The LCD is nice and clear. The device resizes pictures well. The only problem I had was saving JPGs in an interlaced format (my copy of Photoshop did this by default) and the frame not being able to display them. Once I figured that out, I had no problems and my mother couldn't be more happy with it. Was this review helpful?

Been looking at buying a digital pic frame for awhile now and the low price of this product was just too good to pass up. This is an excellent gift for your childs room or as a present for a parent or relative. It is extremely easy to use, just take your card out of your camera and watch it work. You can but songs on your camera card and it will play in the background. Comes with power cord and everything you need. This is truely a great product for the price.***** Was this review helpful?

This is well priced unit that is very easy to you. I bought one and had to buy another for a friend's bithday. You can connect via USB and load you pictures to a SD card. Other units cost more, but I do not think they delvier for this price. Highly recommended. Was this review helpful?

Now this is Cool. Looked around for a while and everything was too expensive. Got this for my wife for Mothers Day. She Loves it. She is anti-electronics but wouldn't take anything for this neat little item.
Couldn't be happier with the product or Buy.Com

Overall good value. No on board memory, but SD cards a real cheap now (I got a 1GB for $10).
Good image quality, though when the details get too small they doesn't look great. The screen is an odd shape (6" x 3-3/8") which is a little more narrow than a standard picture which leaves the ends of the screen unused. So I cropped all the pictures to that shape (also made them all oriented in the same way so all could be used in the same slide show). When optimized like this it looks great.
Tried 3 different movie file formats and none worked and there is no info in the manual about what format besides avi & mp4, which is not real specific. Not real concerned with that as the movie feature is more of a novelty to me.
Gave it to my wife for mother's day with pictures of our son. She loves it Was this review helpful?

I am very pleased with the picture frame that I purchased. It made a great gift! My only criticism refers to the online description of the item. It would have been nice to know that there was NO internal memory and that one needed to purchase some type of digital memory card. Had I known this when I ordered I most likely would have ordered the c |
