| | | | Product Guides | | | | The Cisco® WET200 Wireless-G Business Ethernet Bridge transparently bridges separate Ethernet networks together wirelessly and is ideal for small businesses with offices and resources that are in different office suites of a building or in closely adjacent buildings. The WET200 is a Power over Ethernet (PoE) end device, so it can be installed anywhere an Ethernet cable can be run if there is no ready access to a power outlet. PoE enables delivery of both data and power to the Cisco WET200. An AC adapter is also included for use if the device installation site has a power outlet nearby.
Advanced security features include Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA2) with up to 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) encryption using Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP), giving small businesses the protection they need to communicate and transfer data securely. The integrated quality of service (QoS) features provide consistent voice and video quality on both the wired and wireless networks, enabling the deployment of business-quality voice over IP (VoIP) and video applications.
Additional support for VLANs, Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), Spanning Tree Protocol, and port mirroring make this an ideal solution for network administrators to incorporate into larger organizations.

5 of 5 Works as advertised, easy to use Tuesday, April 07, 2009 Nathan from San Lorenzo, CA
This was the perfect solution for the problem of connecting our computers in the house that were not located near the DSL modem. It was easy to set up and works exactly as I had hoped (just a bridge over the air to the WiFi enabled DSL modem). It lets me easily connect my wired computers to the network. All of the address allocation is still handled by the modem, this device is simply bridging the various hosts to the network. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Plug and chug Tuesday, July 15, 2008 Jeff from Branford, CT
Plugged it in, and it worked. Just entered the WPA key and MAC address info for security and it worked.
First tried using an old WRT54G with hacked open source firmware to turn it into a bridge, but it didn't work - only supported one device - not worth the trouble.
This gadget should really cost no more than a basic router, but I guess it's supply and demand. I hope it lasts longer than the three WRT54g units I've owned that failed in a year or two, but then I've had similar luck with other brands too. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great wireless bridge... Monday, July 07, 2008 A Customer from Bristow, VA
I was having problems with my xbox 360 wireless connector and this wireless bridge fixed all my problems. I now have the DirecTv DVR, XBox 360 and Slingbox connected through this device and no problems since installation. (3+ months) Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Working well. Thursday, May 15, 2008 A Customer from Buffalo, NY
Used in a warehouse to connect a pc and a network printer to the network. Setup was easy, speed is acceptable. Zero maintenance. When I was configuring it I was able to pick up another wireless network in the next building at least 70' away, probably more. Was this review helpful?
3 of 5 Short Distance Thursday, January 24, 2008 A Customer from Sarasota FL
It took two calls to tech support to find out that I had to change the channel on my router from Automatic to any specific channel number and that the WET200 had to be set to the same channel before I was able to establish a connection.
Once I got it set it up, I then moved it to an adjacent guest house about 70 feet away from the router. I was unable to connect at 70 feet! I'm going to try moving it but it seems that I will have to use a second WET200 hard wired to the router to get the distance down to about 40 feet. Was this review helpful?
