The wireless router provides hybrid VPN features that include support for both IP Security (IPsec) and Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) VPN, enabling you to deliver highly secure, high-performance connections between business locations and for employees working remotely. For branch-office connectivity and remote client access, the RV 220W provides 25 IPsec VPN tunnels and five SSL VPN tunnels, allowing you to extend controlled network access to guests, partners, and others.

With proven stateful packet inspection (SPI) firewall and advanced wireless security, the Cisco RV 220W Network Security Firewall helps keep business assets safe. In addition, the RV 220W includes optional cloud-based web threat protection with Cisco ProtectLink Web security service. ProtectLink Web Security provides content filtering with static URL and keyword blocking, preventing security breaches and disruption of business-critical applications and services.

The Cisco RV 220W supports static routing and Routing Information Protocol (RIP) versions 1 and 2 for flexible connection sharing.

Setting up the Cisco RV 220W Network Security Firewall Management is simple. The device includes an intuitive browser-based configuration utility with setup wizard, making installation and use easy. The firewall supports multiple management protocols, including a Web browser and SNMP version 1, 2c, and 3. You also can upgrade the device’s firmware using a Web browser. The RV 220W can log events three ways—on a local hard drive, in a syslog, or by sending an email alert.

The Cisco RV 220W Network Security Firewall comes with a limited lifetime warranty, included software updates; 12 months telephone technical support at no charge; and access to an online support forum. In addition, the RV 220W is eligible for an additional three years of coverage with the optional Cisco Small Business Support Service. This subscription-based, device-level service includes software updates, extended telephone technical support, and expedited hardware replacement, if required.
