Chillout Tribute to Pink Floyd features reworked versions of many Pink Floyd classics, performed by a group of unknown studio musicians. While the overall theme is one of downtempo, post-club chill, many of these prefer to genre hop. "Happiest Days of Our Lives" and "Another Brick in the Wall, Pt. 2" become lite-rock industrial; "Money" features a processed robot vocal reminiscent of Gary Numan's stilted synth pop. Other songs fare better. The female vocalist who sings "Wish You Were Here" over-emotes, but the song is saved by a interesting organ arrangement of the original's acoustic guitar line. "Us and Them" features a spacy jazz fusion saxophone, and "Time" plays it close to the vest, only adding a skittering, double-time beat behind the song's droning verses. While the tribute rarely achieves its desired chill-out effect, it is effective simply as a Pink Floyd tribute with some interesting ideas. ~ Johnny Loftus
