This is really an excellent product. The surge rating is high enough to give me confidence that it will protect the myriad electronic components inside my new Chamberlain Garage Door openers. It not only protects the motor and components inside the motor housing, it also protects the wall-mounted electronic opening pads and the rail-mounted safety lasers. We live in the lightning capital of the US and with all the wire modern garage door openers require to be strung all through the garage, surge and lightning protection are necessary. The size of the product is a plus, especially compared to having to use a "normal" surge protector. And it comes with all the color-coded wire needed for the quick and easy wiring or re-wiring job. The instructions were complete, detailed and easy to follow. You just twist together similar color-coded wires, plug them into the color-coded wire slots, plug the protector into the outlet and plug the opener into the protector.
