5 of 5 Here comes the Cavalry Monday, December 22, 2008 Ralph J Garner from Radcliff, KY
I have another external drive from this company and did not hesitate when buy.com offered this one. Very satisfied. I find the Cavalry units unmatched in ease of use, price and performance. They do need to be in the stand that is furnished to stay cool, but using the stand minimizes desktop clutter so that's no problem. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Cavalry 400GB External HDD Saturday, December 20, 2008 A Customer from Bastrop, TX
Love the fact that it has a Seagate hdd in it. Simple plug and play like it should be. All I had to do was reformat to Fat32 to use with the XBOX360 and was good to go. It seems to be a little slow on the buffering but other than that it's fine (could also be the USB connection). Still an excellent buy for $64.99. Should have gotten another one. 5 of 5 Value for money Saturday, December 20, 2008 Umesh from Beverly-MA
Considering the capacity, The price of this drive is much less than those of other brands. I've been using it for a while now and no complaints so far.
The looks of the drive are not the best but who cares as long as it works well.

4 of 5 Great deal... Tuesday, January 15, 2008 A Customer from Houston, TX
Like others, I agree, this unit is an excellent bargain. I too got this 400GB unit for under $100. It is plug and play like any other USB flash drive. Is pre-formatted in NTFS. Seems to be very reliable functionally, even when I inadvertently left it plugged in for days. The unit tends to heat up quickly, but never seems to affect performance, but nevertheless I still unplug it when not in use. It is a little slow, which is the only performance drawback I can think of. It doesn't seems to show the 7200rpm and USB 2.0 benefits. I've tried other brands before that have disconnected lengthy transfers, for whatever reasons like HD just stops spinning or power gets cut off, and this Cavalry has not failed me yet. I've had it for about 6 months now. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Review mistake Wednesday, December 26, 2007 A Customer from Jacksonville Beach FL
I wrote an earlier review which spoke poorly of Calvarystorage.com's website, but I mistyped. The website is Cavalrystorage.com and it is very helpful and easy to navigate. Sorry for the error. Was this review helpful?
3 of 5 No Direct Tech Help Sunday, December 16, 2007 A Customer from Jacksonville Beach FL
I ordered two of these external hard drives because of the awesome price. I plugged in the first one and within seconds it was ready to use. I filled it and plugged in the second one. It wouldn't recognize the USB 2.0 connection on any of three computers/laptops so data was extremely slow to transfer. I tried to get to calvarystorage.com to get help, but the website is some sort of search engine that sends you to other help sites. That's the downside of getting a more economical piece of hardware, I guess. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Good Buy, wish I had gotten 2 Tuesday, December 11, 2007 r_dooba from Omaha, NE
I can say that without a doubt I wish that I had bought more than one of these at the price they were at. 400GB for less than $100 is not something that you see very often. The HD itself works just fine- I maxed it out in under a week transferring pics and music from my main PC drive. It transfers a little slow for my tastes and the unit heats up pretty high during the process (do not leave it plugged in all the time) but these were not, in my opinion, reasons to not give this unit pretty high marks for value and overall performance. Also, like a USB drive should be, it was plug and play. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 good performance/price Thursday, November 29, 2007 A Customer from Austin, TX
Cavalry @ buy.com has always been competative in the market; this one i bought is better than their last year's product: quiet (well, than their old model) and fast. Looks kinda "normal"... but hey, i am merely buying some storage place... Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Good capacity, easy to use. Thursday, November 29, 2007 Daimeion from Garden Valley, CA
Calvary makes good, no frills, affordable drives. These are great for Windows XP/Vista based systems as they come formatted with NTFS, which allows for use of the built in backup utilities of each OS. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Great Hard Drive Wednesday, November 28, 2007 A Customer from Indiana
What a pleasure to own. Nice size so that it packs easily in my laptop bag. Plenty of room for music, videos, backups, and oh yes, backups. Great deal for the price too. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Value... Tuesday, November 27, 2007 Paul from Houston, TX
Excellent buy overall. I got it on sale f/ $80, couldn't beat it.
It's Plug N Play, so it's easy to use, of course. I didn't experience any issues in that arena.
Performance-wise, it's decent. It doesn't seem to work at 7200rpm, but that could also be my PC's lack of read/write performance affecting the External Drive.
Overall, it's a great product. It's a good capacity (400GB) and small in size. Highly recommended. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 I am happy with the external drive more every time Tuesday, November 27, 2007 A Customer from Fair Lawn NJ

4 of 5 So so Tuesday, November 27, 2007 A Customer from Washington, DC
On one hand it performs what it is supposed to do so why complain, on the other hand there are some things to wish for:
1. The HD is noisy, so if its in the bedroom and anti virus kicks in at night .. you will know abouti t.
2. Many people buy the external drive when the internal drive become full. In this case it would be nice if they came with an easy application to transfer stuff without loosing the internal order of directories or to create on large virtual disk. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Solid Harddrive for good price Tuesday, November 27, 2007 A Customer from warren,nj
Pros: Solid external; good price.
Cons: On the heavy side; mail-in rebate.
Overall I would reccommend this product, as it gets the job done without any problems.

Easy setup, haven't seen some of the large file transfer issues I have had with previous drives (other brands) Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great value but case gets hot Thursday, September 13, 2007 David Bell from Beech Island, SC
The drive works well so far, but the case gets very hot. I wouldn't plan on leaving it on all the time. I don't see how the drive inside can survive very long at these temperatures, but we'll see. Was this review helpful?
