2 of 5 Product Price is Low for a Reason Tuesday, May 20, 2008 A Customer from MD
I bought the usb drive for an external backup unit. I spent the first 4 hours after receiving it trying to get it to work. After working with tech support ( 1 person shop ) I had to open the case and found the drives had been unseated during shipping. After reseating them spent another 3 hours trying to work it. Sent it back ( paid for shipping ) and a week later got it returned. Return went smooth however when I got it back the drives were unseated again! I added extra screws to the case to prevent this and now it works. The internal drives are WD which are good but the time spent getting it to work is better spent in $$ on a better name brand product. Was this review helpful?

We bought this specifically for job where we needed mega storage, and total portability. I am on MAC OS X, it came with the dual drive, we formatted it for MAC and used it as one large drive. I just used the USB connection, which was quicker then expected. I was scanning very large images and moving them from a laptop to this 2T drive. Smooth sailing, it was perfect! Price can't be beat (we looked). The only thing I would have liked better was if the drive had been readable on PC as well as MAC, but that may have been how we formatted it. All in all, I want one for home now, it's plug and play, simple, and it's small size make it easy to grab and go. I would highly recommend this Cavalry 2T drive! Was this review helpful?

My picture, music and video getting out of hand... 2TB allow me to consolidate everything onto one drive with plenty of room to grow. Can't beat the price...
It was easy to setup and use in Windows XP - in both eSATA as well as USB configuration, I prefer eSATA for the speed.
It does run a little warm, hope it will not affect the MTF.

I am please so far with the purchase of my 2 TB external drive. I use the USB connection because my motherboard does not have the eSata connection. It would have been great to have this high speed capability but maybe on my next computer. This is my second Cavalry drive and they seem to be very stable unlike my Western Digital or Maxtor drives. I have it in Safe configuration which is raid 1. Setup was pretty easy but one of the drives was not formatted like it was supposed to be. No problem. I formatted it in NTFS and now I am off and running. Was this review helpful?
