| | | | Product Guides | | | | | The CADA-SA2 Series offers an unbeatable combination of RAID data protection, 3.0Gbit/sec eSATA speed and a vast storage capacity of 1TB (500GB mirrored). This dual-bay disk array features swappable hard disks and a built-in RAID controller. The unit arrives preconfigured in RAID 1 to protect your important data—if one drive fails, replace it with an identical drive and the data will automatically rebuild.
Leave it in RAID 1 mode for automatic background rebuilding and optimum security for your files, or configure to RAID 0 for increased data reading and writing speeds. Factory default is RAID 1 GUI mode, but also supports RAID levels 0, 1 and 0+1(safe 33/safe 50). Its SATA interface provides a faster boot process and quicker loading of programs and data. Ideal for saving hefty files, video, music, protecting databases or working directly on the drive, it delivers high-capacity performance and data security.
The unit is factory pre-configured in RAID 1 and ready to use out of the box. Install the easy-to-use RAID configuration software and the included SATA to eSATA bracket kit to take full advantage of the incredible set of features.
***For our Mac users we offer our CADT series that comes pre-formatted to Mac OS extended journaled.

5 of 5 Cavalry For the Win! Monday, May 19, 2008 A Customer from Los Angeles, CA
I'm loving the performance of this drive. It's my first RAID setup so I had a few questions for the customer service department. I spoke to three different reps during separate calls and all were very helpful. I have my CADA001SA2-B sitting next to my customized Shuttle PC and it looks amazing. I'll be a returning Cavalry Storage customer for sure. Was this review helpful?

4 of 5 Good buy Monday, February 11, 2008 A Customer from Poughkeepsie, NY
The drive works as advertised. Mine came with the array out of sync. It took a long time to rebuild which is normal but there is no indication on the drive or software on the status of the rebuild. Looks like there is supposed to be one in software but mine does not show any feedback.

The fan is a little noisy and there is no way to turn it off or slow it down other than by turning off the drive. The warranty is voided by opening the case but there is no way to test the mirror array without unplugging one drive so.... I voided my warranty, all is good.
I was able to get this for $250, still a decent deal at $300. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Pretty good cheap drive Monday, February 11, 2008 hagemeis from Grinnell, Iowa
I have not had any of the issues that the individual from Erie, PA has had with this drive. However, I have only used the eSATA connection. For me, the ease of use took a hit because there seemed to be some trouble setting up the drive even though I was using the default RAID setup; it had something to do with the drivers. There was an addendum to the instructions, but that was not the problem. Was this review helpful?
1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 1 of 5 Don't buy for any price! Sunday, February 03, 2008 A Customer from erie,pa
I bought this when it was on sale and I have had nothing but trouble since day one. The USB port is bad so my WinXP box doesn't see it all the time. The eSATA port dosen't work either. Tech support is one guy in California. So don't waste your money unless you need two 500gb SATA hard drives and cant get them anywhere else Was this review helpful?
