Julie Garwood was born and raised in Missouri, the sixth of seven children in an Irish-American family. After beginning her writing career with the publication of two young adult novels, Garwood turned her attention to historical romances. Her romances have proved to be very popular and regularly appear on bestseller lists nationwide.
