But their attempt to take control of Captain Scarlet, a top agent of the global security force Spectrum, fails, and he is transformed into their most powerful and implacable enemy. Gerry Anderson took his trademark "Super-Marionation" technique to a new level in 1967 with "Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons," which featured a realistic new generation of puppets, a darker tone than his previous series, and extraordinary special effects (of course).
