Canon Powershot SD870 IS - Digital Camera Review

    Published on: 10/8/2007 8:13 PM
I became almost uncontrollably depressed watching Maria Sharapova's early exit from the US Open, but one thing relieved my anguish: they continued to run her Canon PowerShot commercial throughout the rest of the tournament. Why did this assuage my sorrow? Maybe because - just like Maria - I too am guilty of taking millions of pictures of my dog Mackenzie. Or, it could have been that I was anxiously awaiting my chance to review the Canon PowerShot SD870 IS and the commercial just happened to be so inspiring?...read the full review

    5 of 5 Awesome camera Monday, July 21, 2008
    A Customer from NY, NY

The wide angle lens is great, the pictures taken are clear and vibrant, and the camera offers lots of presets and flexibility for shots in different environments. I would recommend this camera to anyone looking for a great point and shoot.

    4 of 5 Shutterlag Friday, December 21, 2007
    A Customer from Loveland, OH
One of the most important things I needed in a camera is minimal shutterlag when taking pictures to capture those immediate poses and expressions of the kids. This works well for that in well-lit conditions but as soon as you require a flash it is just like all the others. Great screen, pictures, menus, etc...

5 of 5 Canon never dissatisfies Wednesday, December 05, 2007
Tom Sparks from Fargo, North Dakota
I moved up from a Canon SD630 6 MEG pix to the 8Mp SDSD870 IS. This is an amazing camera for the person who likes to do scrapbooking, like me, or just go out and take beautiful snapshots. Even in Manual mode this camera takes awesome shots. I love the 3" LCD screen just like the 630 had, but I swear it's at a higher resolution. It has plenty of options to choose from for every shot situation. I just love it and IMHO Canon has scored another knockout! And you can't beat the price, if you can get it for $320 or less!
