5 of 5 None better anywhere! Tuesday, September 25, 2007

This is such a nice unit - very similar to my old A60, but improved greatly overall. I would recommend this camera to anyone - it is such a great value.

5 of 5 Great out of the box! Tuesday, September 25, 2007
Ramon from Bx, NY
Buy.com did an excellent job bringing it quickly when ordered. This canon is so simple and easy to use right out of the box. Load the batteries in and just take pictures! If you are patient enough to read the manual you can do so much more. You won't be sorry.

5 of 5 You wont be dissappointed Sunday, August 05, 2007
JR from St. Louis MO
I bought this camera about a month ago. I've been having a lot of fun with it. Some things that I like the most is the flip screen and the fast action on taking the pictures. The flip screen helps out a lot when I'm with one other person cause it allows us to see ourselves while we take the picture. The quality of the camera overall and the outcome of every picture taken is priceless. If you are looking for a good camera I highly recommend this cannon.

Sueshe from Ramona, CA
I love the ease of use in this new camera, the photos that are taken come out gorgeous with detail and great color. I have taken a variety of shots from action to landscape and I have to say it is so simple. The zoom is amazing and carries quite far. Thanks Buy.com for making it affordable for me.

5 of 5 A true winner!! Monday, June 11, 2007
Selma from Costa Mesa, CA
I have had many digital cameras and this one has it all. Not only can a newbie point and shoot, but a more experienced photographer can use it manually to create a shot to fit the occasion. Canon has really done it on this camera. I own a digital SLR with two lenses and this will probably be the one I carry on vacation.

4 of 5 Great Camera but focussing issues! Monday, June 11, 2007
A Customer from Philadelphia, PA
This is a great camera for an affordable price. It has excellent day shots and the night shots are the usual quality comparable to other canon camera's in the same price range. I have owned a Powershot A400 and that model made me a cannon fan for life. This camera's solidfies my faith in the company. Pros: - Easy to use - Manual Controls - Great shots - Affordable Price Cons: - Focussing takes time - Zoomed in shots are sometimes blurry or grainy - Flash based pics are good but not exceptional - Battery life is the usual

5 of 5 Best camera I've ever had! Awesome buy! Sunday, May 27, 2007
Jessica from West Jordan, UT
I absolutely LOVE this camera! I am kind of obsessive when it comes to buying a new camera because I take a ton of pictures and carry my camera with me everywhere and I want to make sure it's something I'll love. I spent about a month researching before I bought the A620 a little over a year ago and that one is great, too. Due to an unfortunate accident with my 3 year old, I had to buy a new camera and the A630 was perfect for the price. It's nice how much bigger the screen is and an extra megapixel is good. The only thing I like about the A620 better is that the memory card doesn't go in the bottom where the batteries are but that's a very minor preference issue. The best thing about these cameras for me is BY FAR having the rotating screen! I never realized how handy it would be but I can never imagine going back to a camera without one. It makes me so sad that Canon isn't really putting those on their newer models. Please, people, help me speak up and encourage them to keep that awesome feature on cameras!!! I'm constantly using it for the pictures where you take it yourself holding your arm out and that way you can flip the screen to see exactly what you're shooting and get it just right. It rocks. It's also great how it can maneuver into just about any position for all kinds of tricky shots. I love that! Then it's nice, too, to be able to close it and protect the screen when not in use since I carry mine with me everywhere in my purse. Bottom line, an awesome camera with good movie capability (I take all of my movies with it and they're good enough that I see no reason to buy a separate camcorder) and excellent pictures with very vibrant, beautiful color. I can't say enough great things!

The one thing keeps the rating down on this camera is a fuzzy picture when using the zoom on close ups.

5 of 5 Canon Powershot A630 Monday, May 07, 2007
A Customer from Glendora, Ca
Camera has a lot of features. I put it auto, it does the rest. Nice and clear pictures especially with 8 megapixels. Suggest put a high speed memory card for faster shot and save batteries. For the money, canon is a well-known brand. Size of pictures varies, from small to big. Adjusting to your taste.

5 of 5 No Remote Capture! Wednesday, May 02, 2007
A Customer from New York, New York
Great value. Bought it to upgrade my PowerShot A75. Swing out viewfinder is incredibly useful. 4 AA batteries last a long time. Weird shooting modes are fun to explore. Can't remove the memory card as easily as on the A75, but that's a minor point. Also, it doesn't support remote operation when hooked via USB to the computer.

5 of 5 great camera Tuesday, April 24, 2007
johnbhiggins from yardley, pa
I've always been a canon fan, ftb, ae-1 ... This is a great digital, especially the rotating lcd. Does great closeups at your choice of resolutions. Only takes a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the controls, who wants to spend hours trying to figure it out when all you really want to do is take great pictures.

5 of 5 Sweet Deal Wednesday, March 28, 2007
Bill from Spokane, WA.
I bought this camera for $215 to my door. The cheapest I have seen it in a while. Great value. The performance of this camera is very good with a minor draw back of time to focus on action shots. In all fairness I have to say that I have not gone through all of the manual settings yet. This camera is very easy to use put in batteries, turn on, point and shoot. It has lots of manual settings also. One side note, the camera comes with a 16MB SD Memory card. My advice is to plan to purchase a larger card. I dropped a Kingston 512MB I got for free after rebate on another site and it worked like a charm. Very nice LCD screen and good zoom also

5 of 5 Awesome Camera!!! Monday, March 12, 2007
A Customer from Amarillo,Tx
Very pleased with the camera so far. Very easy to use with many options that are basically point and shoot. But, you also have the ability to manually set the settings if you would prefer. Very portable. Not as small as I was hoping but, small enough for vacation and kids events. Great price for all the options and zoom.

5 of 5 Best Camera I have used Monday, February 12, 2007
jsboysen from Gilbertsville, PA
I have had several digital cameras and this is the best one I have ever owned. It has so many of the bells and wistles that a novice such as myself would want and the monitor walks one through using them. I tried the stitch mode for a panarama of the volcano in Maui (sorry can't spell the name) and the stitched photo came out great. The night mode worked really well for sunsets etc. My only negative is that the book could do a little better in explaination for example how to use the focus points. I have been looking for a more detailed book but so far no luck. I absolutely recommend this especially for novice.

5 of 5 Upgrade Sunday, November 05, 2006
A Customer from orange, texas
I had a cannon powershot A85 with 4 megapixel but wanted to upgrade to 8. I love the ease of using the powershot A630 and with two small great grandsons I need more capability for cropping. I think I will stay with cannon products. If it ain't broke don't fix it. I still consider myself a beginner and if I can use this anybody can. It prints out beautiful clear pictures.

4 of 5 Picture perfect for work and pleasure Monday, October 30, 2006
gadgetking from Sarasota, Florida
Have already used the camera for business - pictures of homes interior and exterior. Has a wide enough standard lens to get a good portion of interior rooms and certainly plenty of zoom ability to get whatever I want. Came with a 16 MB card that even on medium resolutuion (which is more than sufficient) allows only 16 pictures. However , I purchased the 2 GB card at a great price and a rebate as well, and that gives me no concern about capacity since it indicates I will get over 1200 pictures on the card!! Software for download onto computer and such is still somewhat foreign to me. need to work with it and undertand its capabilities.

5 of 5 Great camera at a great price Monday, October 30, 2006
Dinokath from Savannah, GA
This is a great camera. This is the second Canon I have bought (the first one became a victim of the kids) and I must say that Canon has not let me down. There are plenty of manual controls so if you know a bit about photography, you can do some cool stuff. The automatic features are great too. It takes about a second and a half to turn it on and take a picture, very nice! The movie mode is great too. It shoots at 30 frames per second and at 640x480, big enough to look decent on your TV. I highly recommend you getting a couple 1 gig SD cards, as the movies can eat up some space pretty quickly. You get about 286 shots at max resolution and detail OR 8 minutes of video at the highest setting with the one gig card. All in all, this is a great camera. It takes AA's (which lets you shoot about 500 pics on a single charge using 2500 mah rechargeables) so that is a big plus for me! My chief complaint is that it is just a little bulky, but still small enough to fit into LOOSE pockets (don't try and squeeze it into your Sergio Valente jeans!). The features, battery life, SWING SCREEN (very cool. Nice job Canon) and versatility more than make up for it IMHO. Oh yeah, it takes GREAT pictures too! Canon's reputation on quality optics was not lost on this camera. I took a picture of my kid playing in the water that blew me away. Look around and see if you can find another camera that will do what this one does for the price. I looked around for a week solid researching a multitude of cameras and this one consistently rated high on all reviews. You will not be disappointed in my experience.
