4 of 5 Value for money Thursday, June 19, 2008
Karthz from Gainesville, FL

I bought this cam for my parents. They find it very useful, and convenient to use. There are better cameras from Canon, but I would say that this one is a good value for money.

4 of 5 Pretty good, except for closeups Monday, April 21, 2008
Marci S. from Opelousas, LA
Pretty decent camera, however, if you zoom, the photos get very grainy. I'm still learning the do's and don'ts of digital photography, but I do a LOT of selling on eBay, which calls for detailed photos. I like my camera, but I do find myself wishing I had held out for a higher resolution, especially when I'm taking close-up detailed pics. <p> Has good range of preset modes (night, portrait, manual, auto, landscape and more), so there's a good deal of versatility in shooting. So far, I've not used anything beyond the preset modes, but the instruction manual is in TWO SEPARATE VOLUMES, which I find a bit intimidating and ridiculous ~ it seems overly complicated for a user's guide. <p> Love the on-screen display ~ no guessing what mode I'm in and the icons are large enough to actually see. <p> I love the fact that it takes video AND audio, and the mic is fairly sensitive. Since I don't currently have a camcorder, I found the video function particularly helpful during my daughter's softball tournament BUT have to take the video in short clips. I took a 5 minute video of my son drumming and never was able to work with it ~ only thing I can think of is it was too long. <p> One problem I've had with both stills and video is some sort of format error that I haven't figured out yet. <p> Also, one of the reviews I read stated that the 1GB card held more than 750 photos...I don't know how the lady got it to hold that many but I can't get mine to go anywhere NEAR that number! <p> One of the software options that comes with it is REALLY cool ~ it's called PhotoStitch. It enables me to take several shots and "stitch" them together into a panoramic shot that almost looks like a waving banner. Only trouble is, you have to embed into an email in order to send it to people UNLESS they also have this software. When embedding it in an email, the photo has to be narrowed, as the panoramic won't fit otherwise. That gets frustrating. <p> Overall, not a bad camera, especially for $130! Now I know, I need more MP for my closeup shots. I HIGHLY recommend these things with your purchase: <p> Padded carrying case<p> Rechargeable AA batteries (at least 4, so you have two sets)<p> Battery charger<p> 2 GB Memory card<p>

4 of 5 No shutterbug Saturday, February 09, 2008
rt9024 from Elmhurst, NY
Even though this camera takes very nice pictures, it is very frustrating when it frequently take as much as 5 seconds after taking a picture to be able to take another one. I've made it a habit to set the camera to multiple picture function when I know I can expect a sequence of nice baby poses

3 of 5 Not as good as expected Wednesday, January 16, 2008
Jeff from Saint Charles, MO
I owned a Canon A520 and liked it a lot. My wife dropped it a few times and it stopped working at times so we decided to buy the newer version. I didn't notice any real improvements, although I like the bigger display. I'm dissapointed in the amount of time it takes after taking a picture for the camera to be ready to take another. We have to wait anywhere from 3 to 7 seconds between pictures. Since the other features of the camera are so confusing and the user guide so cryptic we don't ever use any setting but the defaults and the Auto setting. All we wanted was to take multiple pictures at a decent speed resulting in decent pictures. The picture quality is excellent, but the camera isn't great to use.

4 of 5 Simple yet powerful Thursday, January 03, 2008
A Customer from Lovettsville, VA
My wife wanted a digital camera that was simple to use and this a great entry level camera that takes good pictures. The AUTO setting is good for most pictures, but I was really impressed by the Kids/Pets setting. We have a black cat and most pictures of him show a black "blob". With the Kids/Pets setting, you not only see his face and legs, but you can even see the subtle tabby shading on his body. Very impressive.

5 of 5 Great Little Camera Monday, December 31, 2007
A Customer from Brooklyn, NY
Easy to use, takes great photos. Only thing, like most cameras, there is a slight delay in taking a one picture after another, especially using the LCD display screen. This is a great choice for anyone from beginner to expert. Also, the included software is simple to use.

5 of 5 Easy to use Wednesday, December 19, 2007
RyDogg from Felton, California
I am not digitally challenged but the camera I had before this baby was a nightmare compared to the cannon. I have not used it a ton as of yet but so far it takes wonderful pictures, the settings are easy to understand and it is organinzed in such a way that makes sense. I recommend it to anyone who wants to just take photos and not have to spend two weeks and need a PHD to figure it out.

5 of 5 Nice little camera Tuesday, December 18, 2007
A Customer from Dubuque, Iowa
Small, yet takes great photos. Battery compartment is a little tricky to open and close. I have no need for direct camera to printer photos without a computer, but it would be a nice feature for some. I would buy this camera again. Well worth the money.

5 of 5 PowerShot A560 a fine entry-level camera Tuesday, December 11, 2007
Dave from West Point, Virginia
With so many camera models with so many different sets of features available, it's hard to select a good camera, especially for a casual user who isn't interested in mastering complicated camera menus and settings. I selected the PowerShot A560 for just such a user, one who needs to take good photos without having to think too much about the process. The A560 offers excellent resolution, a big enough screen along with an optical viewfinder, and a 4x zoom, just a bit more than many cameras in this price range. It operates on 2 AA cells, eliminating the need for the user to keep the battery charged. The menus are easy to understand, and offer some sophisticated features, but it is simple to just pick up the camera and begin shooting. The images it records are clear and crisp. Auto-focus is very reliable, as is the exposure decision the camera makes. Virtually anyone with a sense of how to compose an image visually can take excellent photos with this unit. And the price is very reasonable. I recommend it highly.

5 of 5 Solid performance for a basic user Saturday, December 08, 2007
A Customer from New York City, NY
Its a basic digital camera with no extra bells.Handles nice. Easy to use, not a bad battery life. You use regular AA batteries, which are easy to find and not so expensive. Would do you good to buy a SD card w/ the camera cause 16 MB SD card that comes with it is not big enough.

5 of 5 Great Camera Wednesday, November 28, 2007
Clyde Hussey from Nacogdoches, TX
This is the third PowerShot series camera I have owned over the years and I am still impressed with the quality and features you get for the price. For "point and shooters" just put this casmera on AUTO and shoot away. Most pictures under most conditions will be good and many will be great. For extreme conditions, the camera provides a large selection of pre-sets and manual control. At this price you just can't go wrong.

5 of 5 Great digital camera for the price Wednesday, November 28, 2007
Julia from Chicago, Illinois
I have a tendancy to lose cameras. As such, I refuse to spend more than $150 on replacement items. However, I still want a decent photo at the end of the day. Although, bulkier than my past few cameras- this one is fantastic. The picture quality doesn't fail, and the recording option is great too. I would highly recommend then camera for anyone who doesn't mind a little bulk.

5 of 5 perfect pictures every time Friday, November 02, 2007
Kriss from Raleigh, NC
I did a lot of research before buying this, looked into sony, fuji, kodak, olympus, and canon.....and...canon was the clear winner, it's not only the best out of the 150 dollars cameras but it's also the cheapest, the pictures are so clear, and you don't even need to adjust anything to take great pictures, which makes it perfect for people who want to just grab the camera and shoot great pictures all the time. I have all the settings on automatic, except the 2 that u always get to adjust, the quality is in superfine and the size is M1 (medium 1) since I don't need my pictures any bigger, I'm currently using the memory card that came with it and it can hold 8-16 pictures depending on the pictures size you have it set to, so I recomend that you buy another one, I bought a 1GB memory card which holds over 750 pictures. shots always look great whether it is indoors or outdoors. the flash is great, has a long reach, camera is unbelievably easy to use. Battery life could be better but then again it's the same thing with all digital cameras, so I recommend that you buy NiHM rechargable batteries which last a lot longer than any other alkaline/super duty batteries. I have no complaints about this camera, it's perfect, go ahead and buy it :), you won't be disappointed
