4 of 5 Good Camera with one "con", great price! Monday, April 14, 2008
Ted from Camp Hill, PA
I bought this camera as a "keep in the car", always available camera. I like the "A" models because the use of AA batteries comes in handy. In the typical Canon point-n-shoot fashion there is no way to shoot fully manual with the real settings. I can deal with this but the one thing that really disappointed me was that at full zoom the largest lens opening is f5.8! (smallest number, largest opening, highest light sensitivity) I figured this out at a concert when even with the camera fully supported the background was in focus but the performers were blurred. The movement they made resulted in them looking blurred. Lower f-stop = more light = faster shutter speeds. This might be normal for this type of camera but it limits the use inside, fully zoomed (where the flash isn't going to make the distance). Otherwise it's a nice small, inexpensive camera that produces good images in good light. The feel of the camera in the hand is very good too. Oh, the small "watch" battery failed after 2 weeks so the time/date was always reseting.

5 of 5 Excellent camera for the money Sunday, August 19, 2007
A Customer from Columbus Oh
For the price you'd be hard pressed to find a better camera. The start up time is very short, and the lag between shots is also short enough to not be annoying. Picture and video quality are excellent. Videos will even play back in the photo channel on the Wii. iPhoto recognized the camera instantly, a plus for Mac users. This camera also has a real viewfinder, which is difficult to find these days.

5 of 5 Great Camera Sunday, August 05, 2007
Eddie R from Indian Trail, NC
I bought this for my wife who wanted a digital camera that would be easy to use and make good quality photos. For the price, I really got my money's worth and she loves it. The A460 is slim, fits in her purse, and allows her to take excellent photos at a moments notice. The first video she made was from a small Piper Archer airplane.. again it was excellent quality. We use NiMH rechargeable AA batteries and I replaced the 16mb SD card with a 1gb.

5 of 5 Canon camera Saturday, August 04, 2007
A Customer from Lombard, IL
You can never fail by getting a Canon. We have another Canon - 12x zoom, but wanted a small camera for those "just in case" moments. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of our other Canon, but it's ease of use made it perfect for our needs. Generally, I use the viewfinder for taking pictures, so I'm not concerned with the size of the viewer itself which could be considered a drawback for some. Price was right!

5 of 5 Excellent Camera - Missing Orientation Sensor Thursday, June 21, 2007
A Customer from Naperville, IL
I have owned several Canon digital cameras and have liked every one of them. They include the (now ancient) S110 Digital Elph, an SD 300, an A430 and now this A460. (The latter two are for my kids.) I have also bought two A530s as gifts. They all have excellent picture quality and intuitive menus. My only gripe with the A460 is that Canon eliminated the orientation sensor. The older A430 has an orientation sensor and will even rotate the image when you play back pictures. But for the price, it's hard to complain. Otherwise the two cameras are nearly identical, except the A460 has a larger LCD display and 5 instead of 4 megapixels. For around the same price I had previously bought a Kodak EasyShare CX7220 about two years ago for my older daughter. That camera was a 2-megapixel piece of junk that had poor image quality, horrible indoor picture abilities, a weak flash, out-of-sync audio during video recording, no video output, and a flimsy battery cover that broke. The Canon A460 was purchased to replace that horrible camera.

5 of 5 Excellent digital camera Thursday, June 21, 2007
A Customer from Indianapolis, IN
I am amazed at how inexpensive 5 megapixel cameras have become, and how many features they have. This is a great camera for the money. It's actually the 2nd one I've bought of the exact same model (this new one is for my daughter).

5 of 5 Good little camera for the price Wednesday, June 20, 2007
A Customer from Litchfield, MN
I've bought 2 of these cameras now over a couple month period for my 2 teens. Good little camera for the price. I'd recommend turning off the digital zoom, save on battery consumption by not using the LCD screen to shoot. Very user friendly.

5 of 5 Great $100 camera Monday, June 11, 2007
Phil from PA
Bought this camera from buy.com after reading a few of the professional online reviews. They all hailed it as one of the best in it's price category, good enough for me. Turns out this camera is just too easy to use and really does take great pictures, even better than my friends kodak 7 megapixel which wasn't a very good model anyway. Further proves that a person should figure out what camera takes a good picture as opposed to just looking for a high megapixel number. And don't trust amateur reviews such as mine, google search for some proefessional reviews and you'll see what i mean. Used a coupon code and got this camera for a great price right here at buy.com !

4 of 5 A good buy Monday, June 11, 2007
Jane from Libertyville, IL
I haven't had a lot of time to play with this camera yet, but so far it looks like a pretty good point-and-shoot for the price. I like the easy switch between auto mode, which is fine for outdoors, and manual for higher shutter speeds and other settings. I needed an inexpensive small camera that would take decent pictures without the flash under fluorescent lighting (all those school/rink/pool shots!) and so far I've had some pretty good results, with nice depth and color. The instruction manual could be clearer, and it'll take me some time to get a handle on all the features; but for just over $100, I'm happy!

5 of 5 Best digital camera bargain, bar none Tuesday, June 05, 2007
kevrave from Topeka, KS
I picked this up as a knockaround travel camera. Despite its limitations, the A460 remains the camera to beat in the sub-$125 price range. If you know what you're doing and can fiddle with the many customizable settings Canon snuck into this machine, you can consistently crank out beautiful, sharp, vibrant images. Sure, the video mode is a bit antiquated (with only 10 FPS in 640 x 480), but everything else works perfectly and gives you the toolset you need to manage your outputs. Don't be put off by the price and boxy design. This is a great little camera, especially as a spare point-and-shoot you can tote anywhere.

5 of 5 excellent starter camera Monday, June 04, 2007
A Customer from NJ
Canon's have a great image for the price. Very Filmlike. I have a 2 megapixel A series that served me well and the photos are fine ( since then I have bought and used many more ). The A series have good lenses and are well built.

5 of 5 Canon 460 review Monday, May 28, 2007
Joe from Avon,CT
I think this is a very good inexpensive digital camera. I have another Canon digital camera and wanted a smaller easy-to-carry camera that has a similar user interface. Canon does a very good job with the user interface. Most importantly, it has an optical viewfinder which I prefer to use rather than the electronic screen. Most inexpensive digital cameras have done away with the optical viewfinders. Cnet did not give this camera a very good review but I find the exposures and colors very good and am pleased so far. I think Canon's line-up of small point and shoot cameras is unbeatable and would recommend you to look at this camera if you are in the $125 range.
