4 of 5 So far, so good Thursday, April 23, 2009
    DS from Seattle, WA

I received it about a week ago, so I cannot comment about durabilty etc. However, copying is very fast, printing is great, I love the duplex capabilities. Scanning, on the other hand, is just OK, didn't blow my socks off... My Fujitsu Scansnap is far superior. But it still gets the job done. All in all, a pretty good value.

    5 of 5 Satisfied; I bought a second Friday, January 16, 2009
    CHA from New York, NY
I bought one of these for work (where I have a Mac) and since it worked well I bought a second for home (where I have a PC). There is no way to scan from a Mac. After fiddling with various settings I am able to print duplex from my Mac by passing through Preview (instead of printing directly from the program itself). At home, it did take configuring, and now it prints, scans, and copies with no problem. (I have not tried to fax yet.) The printing is quick, the copying is fine, however the scanning utility is awkward but works well when you get the hang of it. It does what I ask in a duplex laser printer, especially for the price ($100+shipping for Christmas).

    5 of 5 Works like a Cannon Monday, January 05, 2009
    JMA from Kingston, OK
The unit does exactly as advertised. This unit is much faster and quieter than the two year old HP that it replaced. The setup is basically the same and the computer software install is simplified and easy. All functions have worked well, quality has been very good from copies, scanning, faxing and even the double sided operation. I would recommend this unit for individual use and up to small business use. Purchased from Buy.com for about $100.00 and delivery (standard) was in 5 days even with the holidays.

    2 of 5 Not a Good Printer for Mixed-OS environment Saturday, January 03, 2009
    A Customer from Washington, DC
I got this printer because it was such a tremendous deal ($160 w/ free shipping), but once I set it up as a shared printer from a WinXP server, computers on my network running OS X couldn't add it as a printer without a lengthy workaround, and even then the duplex option (one of the main reasons I bought this printer for the office) was rendered useless. A great printer for a Windows only environment or for individual use on a Mac, but forget about using this machine in a mixed-OS networked environment.

5 of 5 fast, quick, nice Monday, December 29, 2008
    A Customer from Dallas, TX
I haven't shopped for a laser printer for 3 years. This one's printing speed is quite impressive. Thus enables document printing and copying very easy and fast. Move over, the scan and OCR with it works well as well. The only problem is the G3 fax with my VoIP line. Seems it is not designed to work with VoIP well. Canon help center is very helpful in instructing me to lower the speed to V17 and ECM off vs. G3's V34 and ECM on. However, I still can't sent fax but I did manage to receive one from another G3 machine (which automatically lowered speed for sure). One function I may complain about is the lacking of scan to email or fax to email function ... well that was reserved for $1,000 machines anyway. :)

4 of 5 Bargain Printer with Premium Performance Friday, October 03, 2008
    Dave from Monticello, IN
I needed a quick replacement for my previous Multi-function laser printer. This was less expensive than a new drum unit and toner kit for my old one. I haven't used all the functions yet, but printing is fast and very clear. Scanning is very good and the fax function seems to work perfectly. The 2-sided copying works great, but I haven't been able to get it to print a document two sided yet. Maybe I need to read the manual again. The only other thing I've encountered so far is that now when I print a whole web page, the header and footer with the web address is almost illegible. I haven't been able to find a resource to correct that problem yet.

    5 of 5 great printer Monday, September 29, 2008
    A Customer from Sacramento, CA
I am very satisfied with the product and with the service provided. The delivery was fast, even faster than I expected with no damages at all, and the product is one of the best. I have two printers but I like Cannon the most, it last very long and is very easy to manage because it is so self explanatory, it also has power saver that saves you the power at unnecessary time, when you do not use it. If you are at dilemma to buy it or not, I would suggest it is a great product.

Purchased for about $ 220 in June of 2007. August of 2008 it stopped working. "Motherboard burnt out." $238 to replace. Will only buy Brother MFCs going forward.

5 of 5 Love this printer Thursday, July 17, 2008
    Diane from nauticat1@aol.com
I replaced a small but expensive Mita printer with this multi-function printer and am so surprised at this printer's performance. It's printing speed is super fast and its wakeup time near instant. My staff loves this machine almost as much as I do. For the price it can't be beat - I wish they had a similar color multifunction machine.

5 of 5 Excellent printer, incredible value! Wednesday, July 16, 2008
Kimberly from NW Minnesota - Mosquito Capital of the World
First of all, I purchased this printer from Buy.com for $119.99 with free shipping. Because of a bad telephone hookup in our home office, I'm not able to use the fax portion just yet. I've tried, but the line itself is wonky. I was able to set up our calling card information (phone number and access number) plus the number I typically fax to so that it all dials perfectly with ONE button touch (two if you count pressing the fax button). My workaround with the fax is that I can use the document feeder and scan everything to PDF quite quickly (Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional) and then I can just email that file. I can easily scan both sides of a document using the sheet feeder. I used to HATE having to constantly scan via a flatbed scanner and invariably I'd forget to scan a backside or I would somehow scan out of order. The laser printouts are excellent. It is nice being able to print on both sides without having to manually flip the paper. Color scanning is excellent and quite fast. (Better than my Epson multi-function printer.) I've found it scans faster if I use the Toolbox rather than selecting to scan from within Photoshop Elements. The Copy feature is also great as I was able to make a legible copy of receipt needed to return something. Meritline.com has a generic toner cartridge for around $20 (2000 pages). I am very satisfied with this purchase. Even at it's full retail price, this printer is worth it. I'd say the only downside is that it isn't capable of being networked on its own.

5 of 5 So Far So Good Monday, July 14, 2008
    Mike Warner from Seattle, WA
I haven't printed much yet. Perhaps I'll write an additional review later. I wanted a printer that got good reviews and printed duplex. Like Neo, this appeared to be "The One." So I took the red pill and poneyed-up. Appears to be a quality machine. Toner/drum installs effortlessly. Doc is better than most. There are linux drivers out there, but they appear to be dated. I couldn't get the source to build under the latest 2.6 kernels. No matter. I bought it for Vista. I'm hopeful. The print is laser quality, true enough. Haven't used any of its other capabilities yet. Has a lot of options. Only one misunderstanding so far. There is a "two-sided" option on the hardware menu, but that is apparently for two-sided COPYING. You select duplex during the print dialog when you print. Wasn't obvious to me so I wasted maybe 12 pages and some toner figuring it out. I'm happy. Service was great. Came fast.

4 of 5 Very good printer, great price Sunday, July 13, 2008
    Bert from Oceanside, CA
I looked for a while for an MFP and then this came up at a great price. The reviews were very good so I bought it. It's a very good printer, fast and doesn't seem to have overly invasive software. I'm slightly disappointed in the scanner as it appears that I need to increase the resolution more than another scanner that I have in order to have a legible copy. Overall a great deal.

5 of 5 Top Of Class In Printers / Scanners Monday, June 09, 2008
    PismoPat from Pismo Beach, CA
I purchased this mostly for printing and scanning. I was tired of the slooow HP scan software and somewhat flaky Dell All-In-One printers. This 4150 really performs in the scanning and printing areas. The scanning is fast and accurate from both the ADF and off of the glass. Printing is crisp and it warms up very quickly. The twain drivers work with all of the software I've tried it with including some proprietory software we wrote, but also Adobe Acrobat 8 and Paperport. I did not install the Lite versions of some of the software that came with it, but did install the tools. I have not tried the fax features yet. We don't fax much. Mostly just scan and email from Adobe Acrobat. I liked this model so much, I also purchased a 6550 model for my office and took this one to my home office, replacing both of my Dell 966 ink jets.

    5 of 5 Canon All-in-one Beats All Saturday, May 17, 2008
A Customer from Bronx, New York
This is a sweet, easy, reliable and fast printer and fax. Has all the bells and whistles I need (mostly personal, some business use). Easy to install, easy to set up. I haven't used the copy or scan options yet but expect I'll be just as happy with them. All this and a surprisingly low price! Also a pleasant, professional, competent technical support staff willing and able to answer my several questions (had no problem). ... SEL in NY

5 of 5 Good machine for individual use Monday, May 05, 2008
    A Customer from Hendersonville, NC
I was replacing an ink jet all-in-one with a monochrome laser. This is a good mix of cost, performance, features, and brand. Text printing is crisp at very small font size. Two-sided printing is fast. Scanning software is basic, enabling quick scan to a file. Highly recommend for a personal office machine where color is not needed.

4 of 5 Good for the price Wednesday, April 09, 2008
    A Customer from chicago, IL
Overall this is a very good printer. There are some details that i would have done different. 1. The display is unlit - i use a flashlight to read it. 2. Need to make a manual adjustment to printer to print envelopes vs. just putting envelope in. Other than that, haven't used it other than to copy, fax and scan. It's suiting my purposes well, especially since I'm on a budget.

5 of 5 Great features on this printer! Saturday, April 05, 2008
    tina_england from Waseca, MN
I checked this printer out after a rave review by a work acquaintance. He was right - this printer is great. ** I do not have a home phone - so the faxing capability hasn't been tested. ** However, the copy, scan and print features are wonderful. ** The automatic sheet feeder is great for making copies! ** The manual sheet feed is a bit recessed for great ease, but quite usable. ** The duplex printing is a snap - and saves on paper - a big benefit! ** My son (15 years) has done the usual face, hand, etc. scanning - he said things came out clearly, large and in color. ** I have networked the printer through my Win. 98 PC, and access it wirelessly on my Win XP laptop. Sometimes it's a bit slow, but I think that is the Win 98 PC, not the printer. ** To network the printer by itself, another component must be purchased; I have not invested in this (so far). ** Excellent send to print speed! I HIGHLY recommend this printer!!!

    5 of 5 Great All-In-One for Home Office Wednesday, March 26, 2008
    CW from Houston, TX.
It works right out of the box. Enter sleep mode automatically, near instant wake. It definitely wakes up much quicker than the $20,000 Canon copier/scanner at my work place. The MF4150 scan quality is on par with the big Canon copier/scanner at work as well and much better than my HP Scanjet 4600. Automatic feeder works great and save time. Definitely a good unit for home office.

5 of 5 Money well spent Tuesday, March 11, 2008
    admin from Tucson, AZ
This is an excellent laser printer for the money. The printing is fast (even in duplex mode), the quality is high and the relative costs are low for a laser printer. I have one already in my business work area for printing product documentation. I just ordered a second one for my office area to print invoices and general use. Very happy with the overall performance and cost of ownership.

5 of 5 happy so far Sunday, December 09, 2007
    A Customer from Denver,, CO
Very solid. Wish it had an extended warrantee. Works out to 3.5 cents a page printing, which is really cheap. Extremely fast--less than 5 seconds per page printing and 5 seconds a page scanning. Not planning to use the fax function. I dont know if HP ever updated their software, but one of the main reasons I got this Canon was because I had tried the tablet scanner LIDE60 and, after dealing with the abhorrent HP software that everyone complains about (with my HP6310), I was shocked at how easy Canon scanners were to install. The install for this product was just as fast (minutes, and it didn't involve trying to download patches or dealing with customer support to mail out the newest version of software, which should have been packaged with the device). And the software actually works intuitively. No more HP for me. Canon all the way and this device is stellar.

    5 of 5 Takes a licking... Wednesday, September 26, 2007
    Ian from NY
The box arrived with the side totally kicked in. As I needed the printer for a remote location the next day, I had to accept it and hope for the best. Taking it out of the box revealled that the side panel was kicked in as well. Despite that, the unit worked fine for the month that I needed it. Buy.com couldn't (wouldn't?) do anything to replace the damaged side panel.

4 of 5 Overall nice, fax features need some work Tuesday, September 25, 2007
    A Customer from Irving, Texas
Hi - I have not used it extensively, but I tried faxing with this machine and there is no way I have found to do on-hook faxing (manually starting a fax) - which is something many faxes have as a normal feature. Copying feature works fine. It warms up fairly quickly. Quality is good on copies. Price is hard to beat.

5 of 5 One of the Best Buys Ever Tuesday, September 25, 2007
    AG from ahmad@primecomputer.net
I love this MFP. It's one of the fewest MFP's in the market that offers full duplex printing. You can't beat that. The cheapest printer that does full duplex printing that I researched was priced above $300.00. Remember this is a Printer/Copier/Scanner and a Fax unit. Not only that, it has all the connection types; USB 2.0/Ethernet/and a Wireless Connection. This unit gives you everything. If you need an MFP, buy this, you will never regret your decision.

    5 of 5 What a value! Monday, September 24, 2007
    Tiffany from Lorton, VA
This printer cost me LESS THAN $200. You can't possibly find that good of a printer for that price anywhere else. This laser printer is only black and white, but it prints very fast and double-sided (not manually by flipping over paper with your hand, but automatically). I used it to print literature for my thesis, tens of thousands of pages in a few weeks, and it worked spectacularly. The photocopying function works well, too, and it is easy to use. I have not tried the fax machine, as I don't want companies sending me spam, but I'd be surprised if that didn't work well, too. I am very, very happy with my purchase, which I made a few months ago. Absolutely no regrets. I don't think that I could get a printer this good from another company unless I spent twice as much. Also, you can buy compatible generic toner cartridges for this model rather than spend twice as much on the brand-name toner. Search for it online.

5 of 5 Good Printer at a good price Saturday, July 28, 2007
    wbaldwin67 from Andover, KS
I got this printer from another merchant about 2 months ago for just a little bit more than this. I am very happy with this printer. It has a small footprint, fires right up and prints even when its in energy saving mode. It duplexes which is why I got it. Its NOT a manual feed duplex either you set it in your printer preferences and works great. You wont be unhappy with this product. I wish it had a RJ45 (Network) connection on it but unfortunately it doesnt. It connects via USB or Serial.
