ATL's favorite son enlists his U.S.D.A. cronies Slick Pulla and Blood Raw to help refurbish a mess of low-down gutter tracks courtesy of DJ Drama on the Gangsta Grillz mixtape, CAN'T BAN THE SNOWMAN. Jeezy and company rework a number of recent hip-hop anthems from Jay-Z, Jim Jones, and Three 6 Mafia, among others. Hooking up for his third mixtape with DJ Drama, Young Jeezy unleashes a set of freestyles, collaborations, and unreleased tracks on the hard and raw You Can't Ban the Snowman. Beats from the Roc-a-Fella and G-Unit camps are lifted for backing tracks, the latter's work for Mobb Deep's "Have a Party" being used for "Gangsta Party" which is the fierce, over-the-top highlight. Contrasting all the rawness is the cool "Say I," a Christina Milian track that ended up on her album So Amazin'. What makes the BCD release of this mixtape so interesting is that their reissue takes this underground release above ground and there are no "thank you"s or "courtesy of"s in the liner notes for Milian's Island label, G-Unit's Interscope, or any of the other mega-corps that own other tracks.
