Enterasys offers customers the industry's most powerful, cost-effective solution for connecting small-office LAN and workgroup networks to an Ethernet backbone and the Internet. The company offers its SmartSwitch Router with Firewall and VPN capabilities. A built-in Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server automatically assigns IP addresses to all workstations on the LAN, saving staff time and frustration. PCs and Macintoshes can be connected to, or removed from, the Ethernet LAN and the router will automatically handle all IP addressing challenges. With Network Address Translation (NAT), it permits multiple devices on the network to share a single IP address. The result: Big savings on Internet access costs.
