1 of 5 Not stereo; mono only :-( Tuesday, August 12, 2008 A Customer from San Francisco, CA
There is no way for these speakers to work in stereo (that is, one speaker playing the left channel and one speaker playing the right channel). Each speaker plays a mono signal only (combining the left and right signal). I confirmed this with an email to Cables Unlimited tech support. This is not made clear anywhere on the vendor's website, and is an absolute dealbreaker. I can't return mine quick enough!
However, if mono isn't a problem for you, and you can live with medium-to-poor sound quality (but borderline acceptable for outdoor/"deck" use), the wireless aspect, setup, and remote are pretty cool. Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 could be 4 stars if transmitter was changed Sunday, August 10, 2008 A Customer from NYC
The transmitter stops transmitting if music is low (even quite classical music passages).
This is very annoying and a stupid design. When it detects sound/music again part of it is cut off.
They should have included a switch to keep the transmitter always on.
NOT USABLE AS REMOTE SPEAKERS. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Happy with product Tuesday, April 08, 2008 Anita from Rye Brook, New York
My husband and I got these wireless stereo speakers for his mom for a birthday gift. She spends a great deal of time outside gardening and I thought she would like to be able to listen to music. She loved the idea of these speakers and when we hooked them up for her, the sound was great! I think they were a great gift to give, especially for older people who have everything else already. 4 of 5 Great for the value Tuesday, April 01, 2008 A Customer from Huntsville, AL
I purchased the speakers to use as surround sound for my flat screen TV. Set-up was easy and quick and the sound was good. The only issue I have is that the transmitter will occassionally drop the signal. I think it was a good purchase for the price. Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 Pain to use Saturday, March 29, 2008 A Customer from MN
So often disconnected due to Mobile signels. Speakers can not be switched on using remote. Speakers are not sync automatically, with speakers we need to manually control the speakers... Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 STAY AWAY!!! Tuesday, March 25, 2008 A Customer from Clayton, NJ
Stay away from these speakers unless you're putting them within 25 feet of the receiver. Outdoors? Forget it. These things have an enormous amount of static, within the "250 foot" maximum range. What's worse, when you think you've got them tuned, and you hear the music cleanly, then next time you turn them on, broken sound and static within the sound, like you can't quite tune in a station (and this was with a CD playing!!!).
I guess you get what you pay for. These are not worth the trouble, cost, or anything else. That is, unless you are using them as local (within 10-25 feet) speakers.
Oh, and one last thing. This set is sold as a pair. But they are clearly NOT left and right speakers, since they don't have any specification or designation as to which is which. Was this review helpful?

I love these speakers. Simple to install and they work perfectly. Would be nice if you could use the remote to turn them on, but that's not a huge issue. Have not tried them with batteries alone, have them plugged in on my back porch. Am using them to transmit the audio from our tv satellite receiver, but would be simple to move over to our stereo or computer. Was this review helpful?
3 of 5 Good deal, mediocre sound Thursday, December 13, 2007 A Customer from Madison, NJ
I've been looking for wireless speakers for my deck for some time, and went for these because of the reviews. I'm not picky, but the sound on these is very tinny, with virtually no low end. My old Recoton speakers (transmitted through the house wiring) are far superior to Velocity's.
The setup was easy, the sound has no static or interference, but the bottom line is pretty poor sound quality. They'll be adequate for the deck in warm weather, nothing more. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 good sound Thursday, December 13, 2007 Joseph from Marietta, GA
I have used these w/ the ac adapters only. I cannot attest to their performance while using the batteries. The sound quality is great! I put these out on my patio and have used my PC and my MP3 player to drive them. With either device driving them the sound quality is great. I have enjoyed listening to them. I have suggested my boss get a set for the office. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Awesome Product Thursday, September 06, 2007 venu from chicago
This is the best investment in speakers I have made in the past 10 years. Very reliable, easy to use and portable. The sound quality is excellent. I haven't tried the speakers on batteries yet, but they have worked great indoors. Highly recommend this product. Was this review helpful?
