My new PC as three video outputs, digital, HDMI and S-Video. I bought the cable to connect a second monitor to my PC. It works great. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 HDMI to DVI-D Cable Saturday, December 15, 2007 hlessr from Bethesda, MD
Since my cable company only provided me with a cable box that has a DVI-D output jack, I now use this type of cable to get the best HD picture on my Samsung 37" LCD television. The cable works great, just as good a quality picture as the $59 cables sold at Circuit City and Best Buy. The only glitch is a very small incompatibility between the Motorola cable box and the tuner on my Samsung TV. It only occurs on an HD Channel. If I turn off the set and then turn it on again, I need to tune to a different channel on the cable box and re-tune the HD channel I originally had on because of the incompatibility between the channel tuning on the cable box and the TV. This problem does not occur when connecting with RCA cables or an F-cable. But it is a minor inconvenience, compared to the wonderful improvement in picture quality I get using this HDMI to DVI-D cable. It was well worth the purchase. Don't forget that with an HDMI to DVI-D (or DVI-D to HDMI -- the cable seems to be bidirectional), you also have to use a separate audio output connection from your cable box to your television. HDMI to HDMI, on the other hand has the audio and video connections combined. Was this review helpful?
