5 of 5 Does All It Should Do Thursday, December 18, 2008 A Customer from Glendale, CA
Excellent functionality. Connect all your devices using just a USB connector. Now if they can only come up with a way to charge the laptop battery through the USB port, everything would be perfect. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Easy set-up - Works like a charm! Tuesday, September 30, 2008 rhusslage from Rye, NH
We plugged it into the laptop (Dell Inspiron running Windows XP), inserted the cd (as instructed), and everything worked perfectly - video display looked great. Just be aware that if you have a video output (external monitor), this requires 2 plugs into your laptop (bulky video plug + usb plug) - 1 cord that they call a "y" cable. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Perfectly adequate Tuesday, September 16, 2008 NoWorry from Henderson, NV
This is not a rave review. There's nothing particularly special or terrific about this product. But it does everything it says it does and sells for a very reasonable price. There were some previous comments that caused concern that I might not be able to easily configure this dock with a notebook running Vista, but these turned out to be wholly unfounded. Configuration with 32-bit Vista was simple and rather straight-forward.
My reason for selecting this dock was primarily to connect my Microsoft Cordless Ergonomic Keyboard and Mouse which do not have USB connections. Since this dock offers PS2 ports for both devices, my needs were met. I would have liked this dock to also have ports to connect my external speaker system, but after browsing several docks I had the impression that I had a choice between sound ports and PS2 ports and I selected the PS2 ports since the ergonomic keyboard is of far greater importance to me than the speakers.
Only other thing to add: the dock is rather pleasing-looking, but the fact that its ports are on both sides of the dock results in there being no way of connecting all the necessary cords to the device without some appearance of clutter on my desk. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Can't complain Monday, April 07, 2008 A Customer from Chattanooga, TN
The only thing that's a downfall to this is that the VGA also has to be plugged in every time just like the USB. However, I've heard that other docking stations that push the VGA through the USB tend to distort the picture. So, it's a tradeoff I guess. Was this review helpful?

I was interested in this docking station because of its price relative to others and because it seemed to have more features. You can connect an external monitor, which many do not provide, and it adds a parallel and serial port, and PS/2 ports to a laptop when there are none (many do not come with these ports anymore). It also provides additional USB ports and acts like a USB hub, plus a network port for additional convenience. The PS/2 ports give you the option of adding keyboard and mouse connections if you want to keep an additional USB port free for other things. All in all, it is a good extension to my laptop that enables me to have it all. Besides the 2-point connection convenience that is the usual selling point of docking stations, I see greater value in the additional ports it gives me. Was this review helpful?
