5 of 5 Product is Solid Saturday, December 13, 2008 Steve W from Atlanta GA
Product is well built, solid and feels like it will last a long time. Video quality does not degrade through the switch. Few featues this has that others don't... on/off switch and remote.
buy.com has it listed for half of what others sell it for.. BUY it at buy.com :)

5 of 5 Great switch; finally one with a remote. Thursday, December 04, 2008 Dean from Tucson, AZ
My only wish is that it would have a default connection it makes in when it's turned off. As is, when off, nothing is connected/patched. There's a logic to that, but having, say the user's first choice on by default would be widely accepted and allow this box to permit at least one connection without being powered up. I'm sure it burns only a little current, but all the same it would have been good. If it has to exist only this way, then this is the unit to get, it's great. If this company made two versions, I'd buy the one that has a default connection when the power is off. Was this review helpful?

2 of 5 Not what I'd hoped it would be Thursday, January 24, 2008 A Customer from Dayton, Ohio
I ordered this switch since I own a TV with only one set of component inputs but now own both a DVD player and a recorder. All the previous good reviews made be feel that this was the solution. I'm sorry to say the results for me were not as good. The results I'm reporting are based on comparing the quality of the picture going through the switch versus connecting the same device straight to the TV. Channel 1 has a very obvious problem. The picture was very "bright" and washed out. The other two channels were much better, but there was still a detectable loss of sharpness in the picture quality. The test input was a standard analog cable signal being fed into the new DVR I'd just bought. Again, when fed straight to the TV the picture looked great. I don't know if the competing products at Buy are better or not. Too late to return it...I guess I'm stuck with it. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great product, Love it !!! Friday, January 04, 2008 Mr. Greedy from Philly, PA
I have been using this product for a month now, so far so good. Highly recommended for any gamers out there who have many gaming systems with limited inputs in the TV. I bought two, and hooked my XBox, PS2, PSP, to 1 component input; XBox360, PS3 and Wii all together to the other one. Great video, awesome sound. Switching between the systems now is just a push of a button, isn't that convenient? Was this review helpful?

I have had this device for approx. 10 months and use it to pass audio only from my DirecTV DVR and Hitachi TV to RCA Receiver. Connections using optical audio out from DVR and optical audio out of TV are straightforward. The reason I purchased this device is that my TV will only pass PCM audio out and not Dolby Digital. The 3-in-1 handles Dolby with no delay issues and quality is outstanding. I only wish I had gotten THIS price! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Easy Answer to Common Problem Wednesday, October 17, 2007 LLarson from Naperville, IL
My home theater system has two inputs, I needed at least three. This unit solved the problem, and it's actually easier to use this AV switcher for all three inputs (DVD Recorder, TV, audio output from my Mac).
The one minor issue is the tiny remote. Since my big remote didn't have a code for this switcher, I used a self-stick Velcro strip to attach the tiny remote to the back of the big remote. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 What a GREAT product!!! Saturday, July 21, 2007 A Customer from Clarksville, Tn
I just got this product after trying 2 other switches for optical cables. What can I say.... This one actually works. I have my PS3, Xbox 360, and Dish DVR hooked up through component and optical inputs and everything is working great. The digital signal is passed without any problems to my receiver. The video looks great too. I notice no signal deterioration on my 47" Wega. The buttons and remote work great.
I am very pleased with this product. I see no flaws in it at all. I would definitely recommend this to anyone needing more optical or component inputs. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great TosLink Switch Friday, July 20, 2007 A Customer from Manchester, VT
I bought two of these and hooked one to each TosLink port on my receiver so I now have 6 inputs instead of 2. I use it in concert with a 5x1 HDMI/DVI switch box going into my projector. I haven't used it for component because I don't need it, all digiatal all the way for me. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great for the price I paid Tuesday, July 03, 2007 JST from Lawerenceville, GA
It does exactly what it is supposed to do, flawlessly. I am glad Buy.com had a much lower price when I bought this. For the current $79 price, I would suggest getting a home entertainment system that incorporates this function. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Does what it's supposed to Friday, June 01, 2007 tobeyp from Colorado
After the switcher in my AV receiver blew, I needed something to replace it. After doing some research on the net, I thought I had to spend well over $100 to get a good HDTV capable component AV switcher. That is, until I stumbled upon this little guy on buy.com. The price was right, the reviews were good, so I went for it.
It arrived a few days later, and I had it hooked up in under 5 minutes. What can I say? It worked like a charm. I was surprised to see it switch between sources nearly instantaneously.
The remote looks nice and is very compact, but that's all I can say about it. It emits a very weak IR signal. You have to get very close, and point it directly at the thing to get it to respond. It's clear they expect you to use a universal remote with it. Which I did, and it worked much better. I could now step back further, but I still had to point it directly the IR window on the unit. Something was obviously wrong... I took it apart, and sure enough, the IR sensor had fallen down (the board is suspended behind the window by a single screw! Big design flaw...), and was no longer behind the window. After repositioning it, it worked great. I could then point the remote anywhere I wanted.
After looking at its insides, I found why it's so cheap. The circuit looks like it was thrown together at the last second. With jumper wires everywhere, and components piggybacked onto other components... It wasn't pretty.
But I must say, the thing works, and works well. I noticed no signal degradation whatsoever. I'd say it's definitely worth the price.

5 of 5 Great product Wednesday, April 18, 2007 Michael G from Burtonsville, MD
I use this product in my setup which includes Cable TV, XBox360 & PlayStation3. Setup is easy, switching is seamless. Does 1080i with no visable degradation. I do notice that Blu-Ray isn't as crisp as HD-DVD, maybe its the players. I use it with a Harmony Remote. Got it at the sale price of $50 though. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Wow! Very nice product Monday, March 26, 2007 A Customer from San Jose CA
The Impact Acoustics 3-Play is an awesome product. I've been using Cables To Go to purchase my audio/video/computer cables and was glad to see they had something like this available.
I'm not quite sure what component cables to purchase in order to take advantage of the 1080i signal the manual says it supports.
I would recommend this product for the value! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Works great with my Hd dvd and Blu ray players! Thursday, March 22, 2007 Mike Deck from Canton, Ohio
What a great little piece of equipment! I checked both signals while playing and they were both outputting 1080I with no noticeable loss in signal quality! I was out of component inputs on my Sony reciever (str de-898) so this unit is a godsend. Highly reccommend, can't beat it at the price! Was this review helpful?

An excellent product, and a bargain at that! It was very easy to set-up and use, and as stated in other reviews it can be controlled by a Logitech Harmony remote. A perfect addition to my home theater system. Was this review helpful?

Strengths: Remote controlled three input switch for component video, composite audio and optical audio inputs.
Weaknesses: None
Summary: Great price. Remote controlled switching. Quality is just the same as directly connecting to the receiver. Overall, a great product. Comparable products are priced 4 times higher. Don't be fooled by the low price. If you are in the market for a remote controlled component and optical switch, buy this and you will be a very happy customer !!! Was this review helpful?

Bought this last week Shipping was rapid. I just installed this last night and seems to be working great. My Sony STR-DE895 have a limited amount of Component inputs which resulted me to to use S-video. With the 3-play, I was able to use only 1 Component Input & 1 Optical Audio on my Receiver and still be able to connected my Satellite receiver, DVD/HDTV player and my X-box using the component connection provided by 3-Play. Another plus is that my Harmony remote supports this model. I was able to add this device into my remote configure and control the switch with ease. Overall, this is a great Component switch for the money. Money well spend! Was this review helpful?

Here's a quick opinion on the Impact Acoustics 3-Play component video/digital audio selector:
Pros:
1) Great price compared to other switchers
2) Remote controlled
3) 3 component video inputs
4) 3 optical audio inputs
5) Easy to use
6) Small
7) Great picture quality on 480I, 480P, 720P and 1080I content
Cons:
1) No instruction manual
2) Remote doesn't have great range, but at least my Harmony remote had the codes for it.
Hope this helps someone out there! Was this review helpful?
