It supports and provides advanced device and media management for multiple drive libraries.With this tape library option, BrightStor ARCserve Backup can send simultaneous data streams to each drive to optimize throughput on any multiple-drive tape library. Scheduling features include extended virtual library support.

  • The number of libraries that can be installed at one computer is limited only by the computer''s available resources and system performance. Concurrent drive initialization: Device manager window allows you to track the initialization process. For multiple drive libraries, the Tape Engine uses all of the drives for the initialization process

    • Scheduled automated library cleaning procedures:

  • Allows the scheduling of tape library cleaning, provided the library supports this feature

    • Single-step library group spanning:

  • Insert new blank media into a tape library and continue the backup and recovery operation without interruption because BrightStor ARCserve Backup inventories the new media for you

    • Fault-tolerant operations:

  • This feature of the tape library option provides continous operation with a defective drive. If a drive in a multiple drive library becomes defective, it can be marked as offline. This enables the Tape Engine to continue to operate using the remaining non-defective drives in the tape library

    • Large Library Support:

  • Allows a changer with more than 1,000 slots to be displayed in a list in the right panel instead of in the tree of devices
