Exceptional product. Easy to install and use - no issues with either. Easy management interface with more than enough options that you will probably never use - especially if you are a home user.
One minor (very minor) con - When my main home PC reboots or shuts down - the NAS goes into some for of sleep mode. When the Pc reboots the NAS comes to life again - after a 5 - 10 minute checkdisk. Was this review helpful?

Relatively easy to setup and lotsa' space for the money. I haven't activated the web-access feature yet but that looks good too. The one configuration issue that I had was because I use ZoneAlarm firewall. You need to add the IP address of the LinkStation to the trusted zone. You'll need to do this each time you do a clean-install of ZoneAlarm. Once this was done, it worked without any further issues.
This was my second attempt at a home-NAS solution and this one looks like the ticket. Was this review helpful?

This product gets the job done so I'm satisfied overall. On a Windows network you do have to install drivers so that the networked drive is identifiable by the individual computers. My use of it is as a data file server for 7 computers. It performs well enough. One issue I've had, is when I set the power for auto, the NAS doesn't want to wake up when it is sleeping and a computer attempts to connect to it. The work around is just to leave it in the "on" power position, which will eat more energy, but at least it works. Was this review helpful?
