5 of 5 Flashed w/ DD-WRT...Works Great! Saturday, May 12, 2007 A Customer from Palm Bay, FL
Least expensive router I could find that is compatible w/ dd-wrt open source firmware. Flashed this router right out of the box. It's been running great. No experience with the factory firmware. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Buffalo for desk top and laptop. Sunday, April 29, 2007 A Customer from Myrtle Beach, SC
I decided to buy this when I got my new laptop. It was very easy to set up with my desk top, which was great. Took 20 minutes or less. My only problem was setting up my own security for this product. You have to go to their site to do it securely. I live in an apartment complex and did not want others working off of my router. This took me a week or so to figure out, but once done, a great product!!
I highly recommend this for the price.
I have had house guests for the weekend that needed wireless, all I had to do was give them my personal code, and we had four computers hooked up! No lag time, and great strength for the wireless for all of us. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Product Tuesday, April 10, 2007 Bonnie S from Jersey City NJ
This Buffalo router WHR-G54S is extremely easy to use and install. The software is easy to follow. It works great. I use it when my kids are home from college with their laptops. They have never had an issue in connecting to the internet from their room. The only thing I needed help with is setting the security feature. But other than that I did it myself, and I'm not a techie. I highly recommend this router. Price is great too. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great value for money Sunday, April 01, 2007 A Customer from Washington
Has so far been working great. Was not the easiest to install and had to contact someone who is a computer science major - but it has been working well and has a good range. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent Quality Router Sunday, March 18, 2007 SLPIP from Springfield VA
I bought so many name brand high end routers over $100. None of these high end router satisflied my standard..chopping streaming video at the MSN.com. I had been searching and searching for a high performance router. Finally, I found the Buffalo WHR-G54S and WHR-HP-G54 routers. I ordered both routers. It is a treasure. These two routers are rock solid and excellent performance. No more chopping video. Flashed both routers with dd-wrt 2.3 or 2.4 beta firmware, both routers are rock solid and excellent signal 3 floors up from the basement. It is much better than any high end Pre-N MIMO Giga LAN routers on the market. DO NOT MISS THIS ROUTER. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Easy Does It Wednesday, March 14, 2007 A Customer from Palm Coast, Fl
I am not a computer person at all, I got my first laptop and needed a router for it. I knew nothing about routers, but researched everything on the Internet and found this model to be the highest recommended. I still wasn't sure if I would be able to connect everything and make it work.. but the directions were so easy and everything went together like I was a PRO!! The product works wonderfully and was an extremely easy install. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 My New Favorite Brand - Buffalo Friday, March 02, 2007 Daniel from Washington, DC
Everything about this thing has impressed me. It starts off with the little details, like the flat Ethernet cable they packed, and the power adapter that won't take up three spaces on your surge protector. The looks of the case are decent, not quite Apple standards but up there.
The stock firmware is just fine, but I mainly got this for using DD-WRT. Now I can prioritize traffic like VOIP (in my case, Skype). It's amazing how much functionality I've got packed into this thing.
As far as I'm concerned, it's a slam-dunk. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Good s*** Wednesday, February 28, 2007 Dustin from Bad Axe Michigan
This is one of the best routers I have seen! I use to own a Linksys Wireless G router and oh god did I have problems. I lost connection or had a bad connection all the time. Hell it even shut down my internet! Got the Buffalo router about a month ago and I haven't had a problem yet. If your looking for a router this is the best you can get. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Fantastic Buffalo product Thursday, February 01, 2007 Happy User from Ann Arbor, MI
I bought two routers in Dec 2006 (the WHR-G54S and its higher power cousin the WHR-HP-G54) to work as a router/repeater combo. Flashed them with DD-WRT and they work flawlessly (all instructions to flash and use DD-WRT are on the web, just read and say thanks to the guys who make this stuff!). This is a great product. Range and reliability are awesome, and it is compact too. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Awesome Wireless Router - Purchased 2 of them Monday, December 18, 2006 Mallik from Olivette, MO
I needed 2 wireless routers for setting up a network thru out our home and I couldn't have been happier with the Buffalo WHR-G54S; I installed dd-wrt open source software (www.dd-wrt.com) as soon as I got them and have them working flawlessly at home. The DD-WRT software helps tweak this monster to perform at at it's peak. Highly recommend it! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 I love the Buffalo WHR-G54S! Wednesday, December 13, 2006 A Customer from Whippany, NJ
The Buffalo Tech WHR-G54S is a fantastic wireless router. I was looking for a small router, that could sit vertically, was easy to configure and had great performance and the WHR-G54S was the only router that met all of my criteria. I'm very happy with my decision. This is a great router at a great price. Was this review helpful?

I got this router for $30 on buy.com with free shipping and it came the day after I ordered it! I set it up that night so quickly. I just unplugged my wired Lynksys router and plugged the Buffalo WHR-G54S in its place and it worked instantly. I have a very large house and the router is on the far end and I tested a signal all the way at the other end of the house, several hundred feet away and it worked great! I also got an average signal in my basement where I was sure it wouldnt work and I would need a repeater. You will not be dissapointed with this router! Was this review helpful?

This is my first review. I have been buying from internet stores for many years. Buy.com was so good to me in my last problem I wanted everyone to know.
I have a Linksys WRT54GX2 connected to a cable modem as a router in my home. I wanted to extend my wireless service to an outbuilding 300 ft away. First I purchased a Hawking HWU8DD Hi-Gain USB Wireless-G Dish Adapter from Buy.com. Connected it to my computer in the outbuilding, did not help. Returned it to Buy.com for a full refund with no problems. At the suggestion of a Linlsys tech I purchased a Linksys WRT54G from Buy.com, would not connect to the Linksys WRT54GX2 wireless. Returned it to Buy.com for a full refund with no problems. I then purchased two Buffalo AirStation WHR-G54S 125 High-Speed Wireless Cable/DSL Smart Router. Replaced the Linksys WRT54GX2 with one of them as a router. Placed the other one in the butbuilding as a repeater. Every thing works great. I can not say enough good things for the help Buy.com gave me with this problem. Buy.com is my diffidently Internet Superstore.
