    5 of 5 Great! Friday, November 14, 2008
    David from Boise, ID

I bought this for network backup for my local system and for my other computers to be able to access music and files. It worked great right out of the box. Didn't need to use the setup disc. Fast and reliable. Been using it for a few weeks now with no hiccups.

4 of 5 Mostly user friendly Sunday, April 06, 2008
    Ray from Phoenix, AZ
The unit arrived in a sealed box but without the setup disk and password for the software. The company responded immediately and sent me the latter via email. I downloaded the software from its website. Tech support is excellent and it is the only company which has actually been able to fix a problem I had with its equipment. I use a laptop with wireless and hardwire hookup to my router, and a desktop unit with direct connection to the network. Unfortunately the backup unit changes IP addresses randomly and without apparent reason. I have learned how to reset it, but this takes time and is very annoying. Otherwise it's a good network drive.

5 of 5 After initial setup you don't have to touch it. Friday, October 26, 2007
    A Customer from Jacksonville, FL
This device performs very well. When I got it I connected it to my network and navigated to the web-based configuration utility (I have not used the included software). Setup was a snap and the device has been very reliable. I signed up for a free account at dyndns.org and am now able to access my files via FTP from anywhere. I am using SyncToy; a free download from Microsoft that backs up files or folders that I specify. It is nice to know that my backups happen on their own and my chances of losing anything important on my PC is minimal. I have it connected to a 100 Mbps switch, so I have not been able to experience the full speed available for transferring files. I plan to get a 1Gbps switch and I am sure the difference will be night and day. Overall, I give this device a thumbs up! If you are looking for an affordable NAS device, you won't be disappointed with this.

    5 of 5 Couldn't be more user friendly Sunday, March 04, 2007
    Nitrousmaster from Snowtown, MN
It almost sets itself up. I use static ip addresses on my home network and usually have to manually configure everything I install. I plugged it into my network, it configured everything all by itself perfectly!! I couldn't hardly believe it. It has so many features for power users yet it would be good for a novice in that you just plug it in and it works. I looked at cheaper brands but this unit has the latest features and technology included in it and you just can't beat its value.

    5 of 5 Perfect Solution Monday, January 22, 2007
    Laura from Chantilly, VA
I have the Link Station connected to my router and I am able to store all the files on my laptop and desktop. I can access them from both computers and save back to the Link station without a problem. Just like a network server. I haven't found a single problem.
