5 of 5 Awesome 8/14/2010
A customer from Brighton,Co
This labeler has a lot of features and makes great labels. It does waste a little tape at the beginning and end. Overall very happy with this product.

5 of 5 Hit me two times!!! 6/9/2010
Lefty from Bath Maine
I have one of these from my job. I liked it so much I picked one up for my household labeling. I can tell you this was a great deal the first time I worked with one, the second time it was so much better since I had learned how to use it at work. BTW, now if you visit my house and you stand still too long I may label you a friend. ;)

5 of 5 Best Labeler I have Ever Owned 1/7/2010
Leonidas71 from 22033
This is my 5th labele printer, and it is by far the most intuitive and versatile. The cartridges are not as expensive as other brand i.e. Brady, Dyno.. Nice build quality on top of all the other nice features. If you do a lot of labeling, this is the labeler for you.

5 of 5 A GREAT LABELER! 5/10/2009
Hometown Jewelry & Loan from Duarte CA
Excellent quality and we got a GREAT price break. EZ to use and apply. We are using for pricing so it looks so much more professional. The only downside is cost for refilling label cartridges and wasted tape on each end.

4.7 of 5 brother p-touch 5/4/2009
john . from seville, oh.
As I have used this same machine at work for a few years, I am familiar with what it can do and how versital it is. If anyone needs a labeling machine, this one should be on your "must have" list. The only minor problem, it wastes some tape unless you "plan" multiple words and the cut apart manually.

5 of 5 All the bells and whistles at a good price 5/3/2009
Royberto from ann arbor, MI
I have used Brother labelers for years and this is simply the best one yet in terms of capability. I mainly picked this one since it can use the super wide (1") tape; but the computer connectivity (usb) and ability to print three lines are great extra features.

5 of 5 Great Label Maker 5/3/2009
Sidney Long from Chesapeake Virginia
I got this thing for a lower than low price at Buy.com and could not be more pleased. I used it first to replace all of the switch commands on my boat and it worked well. I thing did all my files at work, and my tool boxes, and my parts bins in my shop at home. This is a very good to great product and I recomend it highly.

4.3 of 5 save tape 3/12/2009
claudine from Taipei
There is an option called "save tape" (something like that, my machine is in Chinese) that will not waste that little piece of white tape, but it will keep the label you've just printed inside the machine, until you print the next label.
There is another option that allows you to print without the machine cutting the labels for you, in this case you can cut the labels yourself after you've printed all you needed, and there won't be any waste of tape either.
Anyway, I wonder if the machine is cheap only because the tape is sooo expensive.
I also don't like the way you can see the pixels on the printed labels.
Otherwise it's easy enough to use...

5 of 5 nice product 3/6/2009
Roderick Wallace from Wharncliffe WV
Easy to use alone or with computer only problem is the wasted tape before and after the print without a means to reduce waste.
I think by printing several labels(words)one can predetermine space between each individual label.

5 of 5 nice product 2/24/2009
from cincinnati, oh
Easy to use either with the computer or manually. My only complaint is the length of 'wasted' label leading and following the text. The waste is even worse when printing a single label from the computer. I end up having to re-cut with scissors.

5 of 5 Works Great 2/24/2009
Bob from Calhoun, Ga
This is a fantastic label printer. Everything works as advertised.
Definitely worth the price compared to getting one at Wal-mart.
Comes with the USB cable that is a plus.

The only negatives with this printer are high label price and some wasted tape during printing single labels.

5 of 5 Great Printer and Software! 2/24/2009
FIrstsailor from Richland, MI
I have used Brother labellers at work for years. Like other higher end Brother labellers, this labeller works with the extremely flexible P-Touch software. (I downloaded the latest version from the Brother website rather than use the slightly dated version on the included CD.) This software makes it easy to layout 1 and 2-D barcodes, graphics, text, etc. It allows mdata merging and saved formats. The labeller is also easy to use in a standalone mode, too. It even will run under battery power.
The only downside to this printer is that the lable material itself is expensive. Figure about 4-5 cents per inch for half inch label. But the labels are overcoated with clear plastic and are extremely durable - They are useful in many applications where simpler and cheaper labels fail.

5 of 5 PT-2700 vs. PT-2100 2/22/2009
from Austin, TX
I used to own the PT-2100, but decided to purchase the PT-2700 because of the additional features and love it. It arrived quickly, in perfect condition, and included the USB cable, something the PT-2100 did not include. The difference in price was $5, but the additional features and included USB cable make it worth it. The label tape is a bit expensive – but purchasing online (get the double-packs) can save you money.

4.7 of 5 Excellent Product 12/24/2008
RichinArizona from Phoenix, Arizona
It works really well and has many useful features. But I can't give five stars because the label tape is too expensive.

5 of 5 One Slick Product 4/14/2008
John Burrows from Tri-Cities, TN
Brother has always made the best (in my opinion) label makers, but this one goes a step further. Besides doing all the things that you would expect and then some, you can hook it to your computer for practically unlimited creativeness. I captured a company logo and shrank it to fit a 1/2-inch label, then added some text beside it. Even that small, the resolution is remarkable - you can't tell it wasn't done by a professional.
I waited a long time to buy a label maker, and I'm glad I found this one. I highly recommend it. Of course, the tapes are a bit pricey, but you can find reasonable deals on ebay.

5 of 5 Brother Label Printer PT-2700 3/18/2007
George Chenarides from Corona, CA
PROS: I always like to "test" a unit for it's ease of use by not reading the manual for details of operation. After I read the initial setup I try to work the units features to see how intuitive they are. This label printer is a 5 Star product! Extremely easy to understand functions, easy to use, and great results. I found it on line for a total of $91.00 at Buy.com. I have not yet setup the computer connection so all of these comments are for its stand alone capabilities. I am hopeful the computer features will be as easy and pleasing.
CONS: Only one I am not pleased about. When you select the "minimum" printout it sends out about 1/2" of tape that is cutoff before it prints. A wast of tape I do not understand.
