5 of 5 Nice printer, good prints, large footprint Wednesday, April 16, 2008 WooHoo2You from Raleigh, NC
I get nice quality, fast prints, scans equal to my stand-alone scanner. Much easier to make copies then scanning THEN printing. The unit is fairly large (for my tastes) and uses a lot of power. The lights dim about 20 percent when the printer warms up or prints. (My house was built in 1999) Overall I am very happy with this Brother and recommend it. Was this review helpful?

Cheap, fast, good scans, no software bugs and no ADF or paper path jamming yet. A little too noisy for about 2 seconds prior to each print job. Was this review helpful?

I have been very happy with this printer. Setup was very easy, was very easy to share across my network, scanner works great, really no negatives to report. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Printer Tuesday, March 04, 2008 JC from Upsate NY
I usually dont take the time to write reviews but feel I should review the Brother DCP 7020 that I just purchased as Im so pleased with it. It was extremely easy to set-up. Its very fast and does an excellent job in all modes. I found it very easy to use right out of the box without doing a lot of reading in the manual. I found that the color scanner with the help of our photo program turned out a better quality photo than the original. It has a relatively small footprint for what it is. I cant speak to longevity as weve only had it for a few weeks. Id highly recommend this machine especially given its price.

5 of 5 Does just what I ordered it to do. Tuesday, February 26, 2008 Sinner from Gainesville, GA
I needed a flatbed scanner, and this machine works just fine. It's a bonus that it also replaced my Brother HL-2040, exactly, right down to the toner cartridge and drum.
The manual tray on the printer side hasn't gotten any easier to use, especially for #10 envelopes.
The scanner, ADF and flat bed, work well with Paperport 11. The included Paperport software is dated, but the price is right.
I have the unit connected to 2 machines, one on the USB port and the other on the parallel port. It works flawlessly. No need for a print server or to keep either machine on line just to access the printer.
I'd rate the DCP-7020 an excellent value and a very good machine for the home or small office Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 very satisfied... Friday, February 15, 2008 buj from california
we use to have one of those hugely expensive copy machines that required $500 per month maintenance contract... we have changed our copy strategy to buying a load of small copiers stragegically place all over the office... these copiers provide all the copies we require and at a very low cost... the brothers 7020 is working out great. the thing i like the best is it doesn't take a lot of warmup time between copies... we have some xerox pe120's that literally take 1 minute to warm up...very frustrating to wait so long for 1 copy... so...we only use those for high count copy jobs... 5 of 5 Best printer I've owned Thursday, January 24, 2008 Ken from Pomona, NY
It doesn't do color, but I use a cheap inkjet for that. This laser printer does text and b&w graphics quickly, inexpensively, and with great quality. The only time it jammed was when I tried to copy onto very heavy stock. For routine printing and copying, I'll never buy anything but Brother. (Btw, I also own the Brother Intellifax 2820, and that works great, too.) Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 makes life EZ Wednesday, November 28, 2007 A Customer from Buffalo, NY
I bought a bunch of Brother printers for work and home.
They all use the same, relatively cheap toner cart but do different jobs so I don't have to stock so many carts like before.
The HL-2040 replaced an older copier at work and it paid for itself in the first couple months because we fired the copier service guy. The only problem with the 2040 at work is it has a light print, this doesn't happen to the newer one I got for home, it works fine.
Other good points are fast warm up and the ability to copy just about anything. Was this review helpful?

This multifunction printer is an excellent value. About the only complaint was the set-up instructions. It wasn't too clear on how to avoid going straight to the fax when we're using the same line as a phone. Anyway, I finaly figured it out and everything works fine. Was this review helpful?

I mainly purchased this machine because even though the scanning area only accommodates letter size paper (like most flatbed scanners), the sheet feeder will scan legal size documents. I have just opened my own law practice on a shoe string budget and this machine is perfect for my needs. Print quality is good, the machine is dependable, print speed is good and it doubles as a copier (which operates without involving the computer). The only complaint I have comes from the sheet-fed scanning/copying. It seems to miss just a teeny bit of the very top of your documents. It's not even a line of text thick that is missing, but rather the top line of the text sort of fades in as if it doesn't start scanning as early as it feeds the document. However, the faded line is still legible and I would still buy this machine if I had it to do all over again. I kept an eye on it until the price dropped to an unbelievable $151.99 on Buy.com, which was a steal! You can also scan straight to Adobe .pdf files with the bundled software. I recommend it to any one starting a new business or for a home office. Was this review helpful?
