Britax: Marathon Convertible Car Seat: Onyx

I researched for months on car seat safety and functionality. This is the greatest car seat! It's extremely easy to install, clean, and very comfy for my daughter. She's now 15 months old but we started her in this seat when she was 6 months old. Very happy. We will definitely buy another one for our next child.

Our entire family is comfortable with this safety seat. Both of our boys are in a Marathon seat. The only gripe I have is that the harnes gets "hung up" sometimes while trying to tighten the slack. Other than that, I feel that we made a great choice!

This product is great, but it is large and that makes it difficult for it to fit in our compact car. But my son has plenty of room to be comfortable.

We now have two of these, and will be buying another for our daycare person! I had such trouble with some of the other brands, and love the safety ratings with this one. Our daughter is comfortable and safe!

We already owned one of these car seats but decided to buy a second one for my husband's car. Now that our second child is about to outgrow her infant seat, we're preparing to buy at least one more. It has great safety ratings, is easy to install, and is very comfortable for my son.

We purchased this item for our one-year old a few months ago. He regularly falls asleep in this chair, and he loves to attempt to climb in himself. We love this item so much that we purchased a second seat for our other car.

I love this car seat for my son. He has been using it since he was 11 months old. It went from rear to forward facing with ease. Installation takes just a couple of minutes. He has grown taller and it is so easy to adjust the straps for height. I love how easy it is to tighten or loosen the shoulder straps. We live in TX and somedays it's 80 and the next day it'll be 40 so I am always adjusting the straps due to the thickness of clothing. This car seat is in my husband's car and is stylish for daddy, but I have a decathlon in my truck and I would have to say I do like the built in pillow for the head and the removable pillows that come with that seat. My son is still using the body pillow, and he seems to be more comfortable.

I initially bought the Marathon because it was supposed to be the best car seat available. That's what I wanted for my Grandaughter. I have not been disappointed with the seat, it's everything that was advertised.

Britax is highly rated. Every search I did about car seats led me back to the Britax Marathon. The parent reviews are always good. We have used this seat for a year and love it!

This seat has withstood the rigors of four plus years of hard duty for our son. The seat held up so well that we purchased two more for our second son and second car. Britax has been great supporting the product as well. We found out about a recall by opening an envelope with a replacement part and complete instructions inside. We didn't need CNN and have to wait months for replacements like RC2 or other toy makers. All in all I would recommend this product without any reservation.

I love the ease of use of this car seat. It is easy to install and the straps are easy to adjust to make sure my baby is snug and secure in the seat. This is my second Marathon purchase and I would recommend this car seat!

We are very happy with our britax carseat. Our son is very happy everytime he is in the car. It is spacious enough for him and big enough for us to feel that he is very safe in it.

I've done my research prior to purchasing this car seat since I wanted to splurge on something safe and good. Everything I read about it is absolutely true. Not only is the car seat safe, but gives the baby comfort. My 15-month old loves it!!! I would definitely buy it again. Highly recommend.

The directions for installing the product into the car was VERY poorly written. The manufacturer should rewrite their instructions or even better hire a firm like Thoughtform in Pittsburg, PA that specialize in stating difficult material simply.

The Britax Marathon is a great car seat. It is easy to install and remove from the car which is essential when you have a toddler with a sippy cup! My son has taken many a road trip in that seat and has no trouble napping during the ride. He always looks comfortable. We've taken the seat on an airplane twice and it was easy to secure in the seat. It also attaches easily to the Go Go Baby Z Travelmate wheels which is a must for traveling with a young child at the airport. We would recommend this seat to anyone looking to upgrade from their infant seat.

I really like this car seat. My only complaint is that it is hard to secure with a seat belt and takes some maneuvering to get is secure. My husband's car is equipped with the car seat clips in the seat, so it is a snap to get it secure. Otherwise, I am very happy with my purchase.

We've had Britax seats since my 5 year old daughter was born, and like the Marathon best. It's comfortable for riding and napping, and so much sturdier and safer than other seats I see. Our 5 year old still fits in hers, but will have to move up to a booster soon. I won't ever buy another brand of car seat!

After some research, we initially bought the Alpha Omega Elite (AOE). We heard about the Britax Marathon but could not justify the price so we bought the AOE. The seat was difficult to install and difficult to fasten the crotch buckle without pinching my son's chubby legs. After that happened twice, we took it back and spent the money on the Britax Marathon. It was worth every penny. It is super easy to install both front and rear facing. It is more solid in the car than the AOE. The seat seems more comfortable for my son since the seat width is wider. The best part of all is that it has a crotch buckle protector to prevent leg pinches. No leg pinches since purchasing this seat! We are so glad we bought it and even happier to find it online $70 cheaper than at most retail stores.

i bought two car seats, the marathon and the boulevard. Truthfully, i wish i hadn't spent the money on the boulevard and had gotten two marathon, the boulevard is nice enough, but the marathon seems more comfortable for my 2 year old son. I used to have the roundabout and i hated it, my advice is to spend the extra money and just buy the marathon instead of the roundabout.

I love this car seat. It's easy to install (I did it myself) in a few minutes. Putting my wiggly child is not easy, but it's easier with this. Even though the description said that harnests won't twist, they do although comparing to other car seats, this won't do it as much or as often. It's also easy to transfer to other cars that we have used, though I think according to the owners manual, the installation of the LATCH is reversed. I don't know....

This carseat has been a great addition. We started using it after our son grew out of his newborn carseat carrier. Very sturdy and feel that he is safe. At almost 2 and 25 lbs, he is still rear facing.

I dread taking this seat on the airplane, as we travel often. This is a big car seat. However, around town in our car my son thinks he is the king on his thrown.

My son will be 3 in August and is very small. Too big for a rear facing and this was the best forward facing seat I found that should last him a really long time since he is on the small size. It is on the larger size so check if you have a small car before buying. Very sturdy and feel completely safe with my son in it.

If buying a baby seat for your car, spend a little extra to buy this one, you will never regret it. The reliable ease of operation is in itself worth every penny. I looked at every make and model in the baby stores and struggled to operate most. How can they expect to sell a product if it doesn't function in the store? What's more this seat is good from infant to 60lbs so you won't be buying 2 seats as the child is growing.

We are SO happy with the Britax Marathon car seat! We already had the Britax Boulevard and needed a 2nd car seat. We were going to go with a less expensive brand, but in the end we decided to go with the high quality and high safety standard of the Britax. This is a great car seat for babies that have outgrown their infant carrier and need a car seat that will continue to grow with them. Though they are a bit bulky, both fit just fine in our SUV & our extended cab truck. I can also fit both the Boulevard and the Marathon in the back seat of my SUV, for those who have 2 children. We are SUPER happy that we stuck with the brand we trust most!

Super easy to install and use. My 6 month old is in it now and she loves it much better than her infant car seat. Her head doesn't fall forward when she's sleeping in it either. I love how it has the padding at the crotch area to protect her legs fro the clips. Nice colors. Works perfect in my Tahoe.

This is definitely the best car seat out there! I had two others before purchasing this one and it has far exceeded my expectations. My 9 month old just looks soo comfortable in it (and she does not like the car). Her head does not slouch when sleeping. It is just a very well designed seat and I have recommended it to everyone! Also, very easy to install!

My oldest daughter got a Britax for her first christmas, 2 years ago. This car seat is great. It is so easy to secure in any vehicle. I am going to be getting another for my new baby. I feel confident that my children will be safe while on the road in these carseats.

This seat is fantastic. My child looks extrememly comfortable and secure. There is a great amount of padding/cushioning so I am assured my child is having a smooth ride. My child is forward facing and the installation for the forward facing seat was absolutely 1...2...3! I wish Britax would have had a baby carrier seat. I would have loved to use Britax from day one. Highly recommended!

This chair is great and it gives me a peace of mind with regard to safety due to Britax's reputation. The only thing I don't like about this chair is that the black portion of the fabric is basically velvet and it picks up and shows everything! Especially fuzz from stuffed animals.

We love this car seat. We got it in and installed it with no problems. I love how my daughter sits higher in it so that she can see out the windows. I looked at all other ratings and car seats for about 4 months and decided on this one, and am sooo glad I did! It is pretty tall, but not too bulky for me. I would definitely recommend this seat to anyone.

I did not put 5 stars because I ordered the car seat in May 2008 and the car seat I have received is manufactured on May 2007 so I got a one year old car seat. We all know that car seats expired after 6 year from the manufacturer date so... I got a brand new car seat with only 5 years of life left.

If you are buying a carseat you have to buy a Britax! We returned our eddie bauer b/c it was clear to see she would outgrow it before we knew it, and the britax will last us a long time. Everything down to the box it comes in is designed well! The other great thing is it comes in so many designs, you have to find something you like! As a first time father, of a little girl, and as much as I love treating her like a princess, I just couldn't bare putting a girly carset in my truck. So i went with this one instead, not only does it match my interior almost perfectly, It adjusts and is secure on the seat (extended cab -seats are smaller than normal backseat) I coudn't be more happy. Of course my wife did the research before buying hers and we loved it so much i had to get a britax as well. My daughter also loves it. Honestly i think she likes mine better than my wife's girly one!! LOL!

This was so easy to install. It is so secure that it presses down on the seat. My roundabout was tight but not this tight! My 2 yr daughter loves sitting tall and I know she has room to grow.
