Meet Andy Warner, a recently deceased everyman and newly minted zombie. Abandoned by his friends and reviled by a society that no longer considers him human, Andy is having a bit of trouble adjusting. But all that changes when he goes to an Undead Anonymous meeting and meets a few kindred souls.

Annotation:
Some might tell Andy Warner to count his blessings--after all, most people would not have survived such an awful car wreck. Andy would point out, however, that living half-dead presents its own challenges. For starters, he has no rights: the undead are legally and socially marginalized and face extreme employment discrimination. Absolutely no one wants to hire them. Thankfully he can live in his parents' basement, and he manages to find a support group for this walking-dead thing. So all in all things are going okay--until he and some friends stumble upon the truth behind their lust for human flesh and things get more complicated. Loaded with blood, guts, humor, and just enough social critique, S. G. Browne's toothy novel rips up the proud zombie-story tradition and will be mounds of gory fun to read.

Praise
"A zombie comedy with brains." 01/15/2009

"Browne neatly mixes humor and extreme violence with a surprisingly tender love story, some witty social satire, and an extremely strong narrative voice." (starred review) 01/12/2009

"Browne confidently balances a love story with ample amounts of gore and gags that should win over fans of George Romero...and fans of SHAUN OF THE DEAD, too. A welcome deviation in zombie lit." - Carlos Orellana 03/15/2009

"Brown has a lot of fun playing with...tropes...and riffing on...cliches....The novel gets a little gory at points, but it's more in the spirit of a Monty Python cannibalism sketch than a slasher flick." - Michael Berry 04/05/2009
