| | | | The new Recepter Radio has tuner performance found only in the most advanced component receivers costing many times its price. Its ability to pull in weak FM stations separates it
from conventional radios, and its high selectivity allows it to separate closely spaced stations clearly.
The Boston Acoustics Recepter Radio’s surprising performance is made possible by Boston Acoustics’ years of experience in designing and manufacturing high-performance audio equipment. The key to the Radio’s sound is its Boston designed wide-range driver. Optimized specifically for the Radio, it’s combined with an actively-equalized amplifier that uses proprietary Boston BassTrac® circuitry for full, satisfying bass even at low volume. The result is a unit that delivers smooth, natural response and room-filling sound that belies its small size. This outstanding audio performance is coupled with a highly sensitive AM/FM tuner with a 20 preset-station memory for clear, distortion-free reception.
The Radio also has two independent wake-up alarms. Either alarm can be set to music, buzzer, or both.A large, easy-to-read LCD display clearly presents the station, clock, and
alarm/sleep status, while a built-in sleep function lets the Radio play for up to 60 minutes before turning off automatically.
The Radio is easy to use and set: Times and stations can be quickly selected by turning a knob rather than repeatedly pressing buttons. And once you have stored your favorite stations
in memory, the tuning knob can be set to tune in only those stations.

3 of 5 Needs some improvements, but a decent product for Wednesday, November 04, 2009 A Customer from Florida
I actually received this product instead of the Horizon Duo-I that I ordered and they waved the price difference. I think the sound is pretty good for what is essentially a small tabletop clock radio. Unfortunately, the buzzer alarm is a really weird tone - certainly wakes me up, but not in a happy kind of way. The display has three levels of brightness, which is a nice feature... except the display is difficult to read at all three brightnesses due to the lack of contrast. The HD Radio feature is a nice addition, but tends to skip when sync-ing up with the standard FM station. Overall, not a horrible product, but not great. Ideally, I'd wish for an iPod dock of some kind, a better display, a different alarm tone, and some tweaks on the HD functionality. Was this review helpful?

I bought this clock radio refurbed for a great price. The sound is amazing. It has lot's of features but the control menus are moderately difficult. You can adjust the sound to control the base and it has equalizers for each speaker.
I bought this radio to hear wksu hd2 Folkalley. The HD signal comes in great using the dipole antenna that came with it.
I would certainly buy another if I needed to. Was this review helpful?

Overall a very powerful receiver that does not only sound great but also picks up even the weakest FM and HD Radio stations with its own antenna. I found the blue-colored display very informative, wished however, it would adjust dimming to the present light conditions. Instead, there are 2 dimm settings that you choose manually. I find the night setting still too bright for the entire display is illuminated not just the numbers or text. This unit has a hefty price tag, and is only worth the price if you take advantage partucularly of HD Radio stations. Was this review helpful?
