Eve Dallas has a grisly double homicide to solve when two young lovers, both employees of the same prestigious accounting firm, are brutally killed on the same night. It doesn't leave Eve a lot of leftover time to put together a baby shower for her buddy Mavis. Now Mavis needs another favor. Unabridged. 9 CDs.

Annotation:
Tough-talking no-nonsense detective Eve Dallas tackles a double murder of two whistle-blowing lovers. The killer seems to be someone from the ranks of a corrupt corporation, but all the suspects have ironclad alibis. The stakes shoot higher when Eve's husband, a tycoon, gets involved, and one of her friends is mysteriously absent from a baby shower. This futuristic caper blends cyborgs with good old-fashioned sleuthing--another winner from J.D. Robb (the male alias of super bestseller Nora Roberts).

Praise
"The biggest pleasure, though, is watching [detective] Eve, an obvious charm-school dropout, get in suspects' faces." 09/15/2006

Author Bio
J. D. Robb
Nora Roberts didn't become an immediate best-selling author, but once she sold her first novel, she never looked back. A mother of two small children at the time, Roberts began writing in 1979 with a number-two pencil and a spiral notebook. She wrote sporadically while her two sons were at school, a schedule she maintained long after they had grown up and gone to college. Two years and several manuscripts after her initial attempt, her first novel, "Irish Thoroughbred", appeared, the first of over 100 novels she would write in the following two decades. While having dabbled in many of the genre's forms, Roberts has found most of her success writing contemporary romances flavored with both suspense and adventure. The youngest of five children, Roberts grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland. In 1968, she married Ronald Aufdem-Brinke, the father of her two children, but divorced him in 1985, the same year she married her second husband, Bruce Wilder.
